Hi guys

so our company website needs a new look.
Could or would it be a good idea to purchase a blank template we like and add in the content we like instead of having a custom design job etc.

Our current website allows us to do this ie add photos, text and new categories so Im guessing yes?

Anything to watch out for or suggestions?
We have Linux hosting with Afrihost if that makes any difference?

What language, hosting OS is the current site?

If you want to integrate existing functionality its probably better to just get someone to design the new layout and include the old functionality you want. But its hard to say without seeing the existing site and desired requirements.

If you really want to do a DIY job, then just look at a basic wordpress site, you can install thousands of site templates with minimal effort.

Not sure of the language but I suspect the hosting OS is linux?
We're definitely not wanting to take anything from the existing site, that will be scrapped in its entirety. I think what Im wanting to now is if we go the blank template route will it be easy for a computer literate person to change content / add pics to the site, sorry that I stated my question a bit daft

Thanks will have a look at Wordpress!

Thanks for that, so far we've looked at format.com and virby, which seems quite well priced and on the trial site looks easy to maintain, nice templates as well.
Webafrica is also tempting, as we'd have someone to maintaint the site, do all our hosting, email etc in on.
Decisions decisions....

Hi not sure if you got the new look and feel, if you may please also visit www.webplacement.co.za we deal with corporate branding which includes website design and development and digital advertising, you might find you will end up taking more than a website package. :):)
