Some iPhone X devices have touchscreen problems

Apple Inc. disclosed a pair of issues affecting two of its more popular products: the iPhone X and the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The Cupertino, California-based technology giant said Friday the screen on some iPhone X units doesn’t respond or responds intermittently when touched.

Can MyBroadband contact a local Apple/Core representative to check if this applies to South Africans yet?

@Dave

I think we best speak to every reviewer to put out a notice ; and possibly chat tp Apple about warning stickers on the boxes to caution users?
Do you think a WARNING : TOUCHSCREEN ISSUES AND NON CHARGING MAY OCCUR will suffice?

But it's Apple. It always just works.

Bit late now, the phone is over a year old now iirc, a lot of those X’s are going to be out of warranty. I’d hope that Apple do the right thing and do free out of warranty repairs for anyone who has the problem.

Haha, good one.

Haha, good one.

It looks like they are.

Apple has determined that some iPhone X displays may experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module. An affected device may exhibit the following:
  • The display, or part of the display, does not respond or responds intermittently to touch
  • The display reacts even though it was not touched
Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace the display module on eligible devices, free of charge.

You said "do the right thing". Apple has never done the right thing, they only do it if they have to.

Apples after sales service is usually pretty good, it’s not something I would criticise.

Though I’m referring to Apple, not the SA company that you have to deal with,

Good to hear.

I'd feel pretty guilty if I reviewed the phone, found it decent and there turned out to be an issue with charging, touch, signal, bending or whatever else iPhones do.

Probably not quite so bad as shill reviewers who were given free handsets by a manufacturer and that handset had serious issues from day 1 and the shill reviewers pretended the issues didnt really exist :X3: and carried on posting only good comments :X3: without a single comment or warning about those serious issues :X3: which resulted in customers innocently buying that handset and then finding out in the first week or 2 that their handset is afflicted with those serious issues and are now stuck having to fight with their retailer/network/manufacturer to get a replacement or refund and contract terminated.

Must be terrible to do that just because the reviewers are s**t scared of being taken off the freebie list if they were to be critical.

Don’t you agree?

;)

We really need the old whistling emoji back...

I'm not sure why you're going on a tangent.

I'm just saying that if I reviewed the iPhone and someone bought it with the serious issues, I'd feel guilty about it.

Don’t be disingenuous, you know exactly what you were referring to.

So you don’t agree that shill reviews which are given for getting a free product are really bad practice, and people who give that sort of review are being quite deceitful?

Do you think people who give good reviews for free products should also feel guilty?

I do battle to understand you, I admit :( You imply that reviews change whether me a media sample or bought.

I remember in the past I've got some speakers to test and they were very good! I then bought them ... And they were still good!

My head can't get around how anything would physically change in a device as you seem to say over and over and over and over again. I'm thinking of giving this back and upgrading tomorrow just to see this change you speak of!

Who said anything about you?

Are you feeling guilty about something?
