Got a proxy on the phone? Is your APN correct? - sounds like you are going through a proxy that is redirecting you to that site...
Vodacon uses a proxy by default if I am not mistaken.
No proxy on my phone. Usually when this occurs while I'm in Cape Town, it resolves itself if you I turn off data connection and turn it back on. But since I arrived in Kempton Park (JHB) yesterday, it has become a permanent issue.
I use a dual SIM Redmi 3 and the MTN SIM on the same phone browses perfectly.

Go into your settings and check on the active apn that that there are no active proxy settings there. remove everything except the apn "internet", save and test.
Already did that numerous times including resetting to default setting.

Give it 10 minutes, reboot and then try again please.
Thanks a bunch. It's back on and I didn't have to reboot. I just switched Airplane mode on and off like I used to do back in Cape Town.
Was the Adult Content setting the cause?

Can you do me a favour please? My sister is having the same problem as described in this thread.
I’m trying to help her get it fixed. Can you check if her sim has adult content activated and remove it if so (she's a married Mom with 3 kids - we think her recycled prepaid number came restricted)?
If not, what else could be the issue? She’s changed phones from Android to Apple and still the same (and put another sim into her phones and the problem goes away) so we know it’s not the device, but a Vodacom setting/issue somewhere.
Can I email/send you her number?

apply for a unrestricted APN. go to google type in "Unrestricted APN Vodacom"
