Is Audi better than BMW?

Yes.

Im still building my pc got a intel i7...and 16 gig ram 8x2 ddr3...i think of getting a asrock l87 board...and i want a graphics card

What PSU have you got?
List of Graphics cards: http://www.wootware.co.za/computer-hardware/video-cards-video-devices

Might interest you:
GTX 960 @ R2'999
R9 280 @ 2'899
R9 270 @ R2'776
R9 270X @ R2'809

The R9 280 is a powercolor card, they take some shortcuts when it comes to cooling etc. So they are supposedly ~10% less powerful than others that are the same. Depends on your luck of the draw of the card.

I would suggest the R9 270X or waiting another month or two for the new 300 series to come to South Africa, this will either result in a price drop of the 200 series or give you about the same price for a new generation.

I would prefer nvidia...what is the best nvidia alternative for that powerColor AXR9 270X 2GBD5-TDHE/OC TurboDuo Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 256bit Graphics Card

Okay something like gta v on its highest setting...whats will make it run smoothly

Your budget is severely lacking. If you want to max things out you will have to look at something like a gtx 980 or a new r9 390x.

To get any semi decent performance you will have to up your budget to around R3k for a gtx 960 or r9 280x but you will not be able to max out the gfx settings, not even close but you will still get semi decent performance.

Hey chevron, the card is out of stock. Wootware might wait for the new 300 series instead of restocking.
@OP mail them.

The 300 series is a simple rebrand with sligthly higher clocks, the r9 380 is based on the r9 285 and actually performs slightly worse than the 380x I think. You do however get full dx12 support.

Yes, but the price will drop, which is why I would suggest waiting a month.

get yourself a 2nd hand card

can get a better card for that price range, also why so big budget for a motherboard ,then so little for a gpu?

motherboard just connects everthing, spend most money on GPU then cpu then ram then mobo and so on

as R500 more on a motherboard wont give u more FPS but R500 more on a gpu will

Not in SA, go look at online shops selling the older kit, it's still fscking more expensive than the newer stuff. It's madness.

Just got released oversees, with the flagship being released the day after tomorrow.
Wait for some suppliers to bring it into the country before the price will drop. If you have no competition, why drop the price?

Go look at older card prices 7x0 vs 9x0 cards online, the 7x0 syuff is still more expensive than the newer 9x0 cards.

Yeah you can only shake you head at that logic, pay mega bucks for a MB that does nothing for performance & then skimp on the GPU but you see it all over the net.
