Someone gave xrapidx a 40D

I was talking about 40D/50D. D90 does not come close.
About button layout on Nikons - you get use to it. Once you got it set the way you like, it's easy, but I still like the 40D's custom modes on the dial. C1, C2 & C3, right? That's sweet. Come on Nikon!? Oh well, at least they have nice auto ISO.

He he - everything is a compromise, isn't it? Embarrassingly, I have not even programmed my C1, C2 and C3 yet :o

the 50d practices unsafe shooting
the d90 always has it's plastic on, when engaging in risky photo sessions

LOL

Quick post question - I took a couple of jpg shots that I don't want to loose of my girlfriend eating watermelon - but the damn camera was on the wrong colour temperature, Whats the easiest way to get some decent colour back in photoshop?

depending on how bad

Try this first - image> adjustments> match colour then hit neutralise. (US spelling probably applies:D)

Of course if you were shooting in RAW . . .

Thanks - I'll have a look as soon as it finishes installing (just reinstalled windows).

Got to get used to RAW I think. Only have a 1Gb CF card though.

Shame. I've only re-installed twice in the last two years. Once when migrating my work machine from 32bit to 64bit Linux, and once on my Mac Mini when I sold it, to give the new owner a clean OS (and remove my, uhm, "content")...

This is the first time since January 07 :)

The actual reinstall was about 2 weeks ago, just haven't gotten round to installing all my software yet.

Really easy with PSP - manual colour correction.

As Bwana said, the easiest way is RAW :p

Why would you need it if you have Photoshop?

Why not just go out and buy a PDA/ipod type screen protector?

The plastic ones seem to distort, or blur the picture a bit, I think glass would be better, and for R100 its the same price as the plastic one :)

Thought it might be easier in PSP? Hit the Nuetrilize bottom in Photoshop and the picture hardly changed... needless to say, I now shoot in RAW.

Qucik question - do you keep all your pictures RAW, or after Post to do save them as JPG and delete the raw pictures?

yep - as most of my post is done in Aperture there is no need to convert to anything else. It's when files go to PS3 that they go from 10mb to 56mb.

Do you guys think a Sandisk Compact Flash Extreme III 4GB will be good enough for my needs (general shooting, from now on in RAW)? going for R650.

I see Transcend have a Transcend® Ultra Performance Compact Flash Card 8GB - 133x Speed - For Use In Digital Cameras & Media Players for 305 excl. vat.

Which would be better?

When need to bring them into PS3 to work on or for archiving?

well, PS opens the raw file, but then you must save it as something
if it's got layers I save it as a PS file - duh
but if it's merged? tiff can hold an alpha channel, but not jpeg

I'm about to go shopping, so good time to start. Got given a 40D, and have a 450D, so now I plan on selling them both, and buying the next best thing :p

...or maybe just sell the 450D, and get a nice tele-lens :)

Some people seem to have all the luck int he world.

I have a Canon 400D, love it.
