Russia is half-owners in theory only. Surely when comparing empires the Russians can't compete.

In an way the "War on Terror" is WWIII. When a war affects the world it's a World War. The nature of wars also change - meaning we probably won't see something exactly similar to WW1 and WW2 again. Cyberwar and the "War on Terror" is the new way of fighting on a global scale.

The whole point of the treaty is that no one can claim ownership of the moon - similar to international waters.

Countries will avoid a nuclear war at all costs because it means an absolute end to mankind. A full scale chemical and biological war is similarly unlikely - M.A.D.

North Korea may be the exception. Although most consider their nuke threats as political manupulation one can never be sure. A despot ruler needs to push a few buttons only to create self-destructive chaos.

Those throwing stones at America usually enjoys the benefits of the stibilty and prosperity created by the US. If the US were to return to isolationism the rest of the world will suffer. The American Empire - as some prefer to see it - has been the best one ever. They dropped the bomb to end the war with Japan, Japan signed a peace treaty with the States and deposed the Empire of the Sun from the seat of power. Japan become a democratic nation for the first time where people could vote.
