GriefingYou get banned for killing someone in a game? If they don't want players killing each other why not just program it so you can't kill another player then?

If you in the open-world repeatedly steamroll a player then it is considered as griefing. The admin will just check the log of your activities. This is a public server, there are 'free-for-all' servers out there. Griefing is a temporary ban unless it is repeated like two or three more times. The permaban must have been for something different.
I once played the game where I was repeatedly killed by some random kid within seconds from spawn. I didn't complain about it though.
This is why games like The Division has a Dark Zone for exactly this, you go in there to kill or get killed.
Bungie has best policy for exploits.... no bans, everyone gets to know about it and use and abuse it until its fixed, so no one can cry 'unfair'... it is after all a dev problem, should never ban players for it, announce it to the player base and let them go wildSo yes. My son was griefing somone the 1st time. The 2nd he used an exploit.
Doesn't GTA Online have a setting you can turn on so you don't take damage from other players?
Sorry, not when it comes to griefing which is essentially a type of bullying, towards other people. Just because its a game, doesnt mean you get to do what ever you want to do, towards other people.Uhm no. The whole point of the game is to do stuff that you can't do in real life.
