as far as i am concerned he can be fed to the wolves.
but i am curious as to why the victim has not laid charges with saps, where proper justice can be dispensed - unlike an internal inquiry by the da.
seems as ineffective as saps investigating their own crimes (icd)

Most women that experience sexual harassment just want to deal with it and get over it. Also, contrary to popular belief, you don't wish ill upon the person. You just want them to stop and acknowledge they were wrong and get some kind of punishment for their behaviour.

In some bad cases, yes maybe dismissal and in very rare circumstances then also to take it to the police. But I don't see this as one of those instances.

Most men don't realise how much sexual innuendo and sexually inappropriate behaviour women deal with on a daily basis. Some women can handle it better than others. Some are brave enough to do something about it and speak up. But speaking up has its own set of judgement. Was she asking for it, etc.

I read it differently.

To me this seems more like "we need to have you take the fall for something, even if you are innocent, just to make the problem go away".

More than likely exactly what happened.

Easier to admit some guilt than the fight to prove your innocence and then never actually winning.

I hate to be THAT guy, but I suspect DA don't wanna look "racist" punishing the black MP. Hence the relatively mild punishment.

I've noticed this about SAfricans.

If you say a DA figure messed up, they immediately compare to the ANC. Of course there is no link and the comparison just feeds their own prejudice/opinions.

I doubt you will ever got a serious and honest moral response on that one. This is Africa where some are exempt from abiding moral standards! Zuma is the prime example.

Off course it would be compared to the ruling ANC. Why should action be taken against anyone else but with the ANC it's allowed to and they get away with the same and worse continually. I guess it's the old story of what is expected from a certain group. We do not expect or accept it from any DA member or MP but because we do, due to recent history since 1994, we do expect and accept low moral standards and ethics from the ANC as it's acceptable "culture" thanks to the ruling president which is an excelent example of low morals and standards?

So you're saying we should be lenient on the DA people because the ANC (with more representatives) mess up more?

Is that what the DA stands for - I hope not because we then end up with nobody accountable ever.
