Hi,

I'm in the market for a 37" LCD. Why 37", well size of my living and distance from screen make 37" the right size for me.

I'm currently only considering 2 models:
  • Sony Bravia 37" - R 8999 - One Year Warranty - Website
  • Sonic 37" - R 7999 - Three Year Warranty - Website
  • Sinotec 37" - R ???? - Not considering (No Stock Anywhere)

I'm currently leaning towards the Sonic, based on the three year warranty and user feedback regarding support. The Sonic does only have one HDMI which could be a problem (HD PVR + Blu-ray Player), whereas the Sony has two HDMI ports. I would appreciate if anybody would share their thoughts.

Brand vs badge engineered? I'd buy the brand, even if it cost a bit more.

If I had to choose between Sonic and Sinotec... I'm not so sure.

I suggest going and looking at the sets with a good signal and choosing based on that.

Try a 37" Samsung, Me and may other here can vouchs its superior LCD qualities

Sharp Aqeos at 37 inches will beat all of the above.
SADLY, only HifiCorp do Sharp, which is one of the best brands out there
and employs its own glass.

Yea, the Sharp Aquos range is tops of all of them. Bloody great sets them. Pity about the HI Fo C problem though.

Isn't Sharp back in the country now?
