I've spent most of this afternoon going through SEGA-SAMMY HOLDINGS Annual Reports and financials to see if there's any reason why they needed to license this. You know? Past experiences where SEGA were in deep financial straits and then did stuff like, kill off a console and sell out to Sony and Nitendo and of course allow themselves to be mergered with SAMMY.

There's nothing, nor is there any mention of this film. Upcoming games yes, we know which ones thanks to the Annual Reports (and confrimed by gaming industry insiders)
But this abomination is nowhere in their annual reports, not even in terms of expenditure, it seems this was a straight licensing deal (as is the case with many others) and business as usual, while the world outside of Japan has to be nauseated with this crap.

If it is any consolation, Sonic's co-creator hasn't got good things to say either. However, Naoto Oshima remains silent on this film, and Sonic Team, also remain silent.
 
I just hope Tails and Knuckles didn't make it into this film. Hopefully they can still be redeemed.
 
This looks like an absolute load of hot garbage. Definitely going to give this a miss.

Because die hard sonic fans are taking over the net spreading the movie and causing attention. Could be tactical viral marketing if you ask me.

Excuse me... die hard Sonic fans (like myself) are currently in private discussions talking about how we are going to handle this train wreck from derailing our entire fandom and hobby.
You wouldn't know because you're not in that community.
I've already requested people to refrain from posting these ugly images and trailers in my Telegram groups
