I didn't really understand the article did Sony buy Ericsson off or did they just buy the the 50% of Sony Ericsson that Ericsson owned?

+100But yes, Sony locking down their equipment has caused problems for them in the past.
After all, it was Sony locking down the MiniDisk players so that they could not play MP3's that created the gap for the iPod and caused Sony to lose it's whole Sony Walkman market. If that had not happened, Apple would probably have been extinct by now, they were losing money before Sony created that gap in the market.

The current Sony phones use microSDHC cards !!
I have a Sony XPeria Arc, great phone - and I am sure that they will get better !
