Well, first thing the guy told me is that I need a 3G simcard for this puppy - apparently you can't make video calls, etc with the normal simcard.

Then I got all excited and, for the first time, realised what a powerhouse phone this actually is.... you can also surf at 3G speed if you connect your phone to a laptop or pc.

*You can connect to my phone via video call - and always be able to see the king in the flesh!! How cool is that? :)

* TBH I've never seen the point of video calling, I'd use 3G for insanely fast data transfer tho' , maybe I'm just being a techno peasant

just put my SP on, and it works great. Screen looks and feel even newer, but it was a b*tch to put in on (dust free)!

Is the screen protector the exact size of the screen, or did you have to cut it?

PS did you read the directions I gave kingrob a couple of pages back re. putting the SP on ? Sounds like you really had to fiddle !

On this topic, just how much RTFM is needed to basically set the phone up? I just need email and web browsing.

Seems like I'll need to get mine before Christmas just to have time to learn how to use it. If I ask my teenage son to have a look for me, I don't think I'll get it back again :p

Yes, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist. That caused me to try get rid of every little dust spec. And the more I fiddled, the more there was time for more contaminations to get underneath the screen.
But in the end it was all worth it.
 
From all the hype on here I'm thinking of getting the P990i

Suggestion to all of you who will be putting a SP on - get a spectacle cleaning microfibre cloth ( from optometrist etc ) it makes the job a lot easier !

* BTW when did this thread get a five star rating ?
