Was at Firkin pub in Centurion for a few Amstel draughts. ;)

Just got a link on www.my-symbian.com to a FREE program for converting your DVDs, videos, etc for playback on your P990i - and the quality is simply amazing. ;)

Download it here: http://www.vapulus.com/w900i/M3-0.8.9.6-Installer.exe

More details here:

Best of all - it's FREE!!! :)

Yes, I've been using it the past 3 weeks now - simply amazing. FLUID video playback, and with true stereo via headphones, it's the real thing. Really demonstrates the excellent quality of the screen and processing power.

Thought you guys knew about M3 since it was posted on My-Symbian weeks ago! Sorry :o

If my memory doesn't fail me, there was questions on this thread regarding VPNs quite a while back. I am too lazy to search this massive thread, but here's a reply I finally got from SE Useless Support regarding this:

We apologize for the delay in response to your mail. Unfortunately Sony Ericsson does not yet have any documentation concerning the setup of the VPN as there quite a number of different ways of setting up the VPN especially using client software. It is true that the software provided by Sony Ericsson Does not provide for some of the VPN platforms e.g. the Microsoft VPN. We are still however awaiting further developments concerning this matter and as soon as there are any, they will be uploaded on the Sony Ericsson Website.

I want to dig a VPN over my WLAN link through IPCop into my internal network, then I can get rid of the firewall holes I dug for my phone.

I've had my P800 for just over 2 years now... still going no problem... one day I will get a newer model...lol... anywho has anyone found a app like ftP800 for FTP on your P990s?

@mavchat, is this what you are looking for ( ftp support imminent according to thread )

@kingrob glad you found the m3 converter...it's apparently superb, have read so many good things about I'll just have to go the 'bootcamp' route so I can run it ( on a Mac ! ;) )

PS @ kingrob - it seems many people are finding this ( 'our' ! ) thread useful....I think it's time for a 'sticky' thread with up-to-date info and FAQ's on the P990i ( latest FW, useful links, how-to etc )...;)

I'm trying to download this , but my 3G is soooo sloooow.

I'm averaging 1.4KB/s with peaks at 6.4KB/s.

wonder if it is my 3G or their webserver.

although netmeter shows the same stats for other goodies i download.

Hanno, definitely worth it. Absolutely fantastic to view videos @ 25 fps...

I feel this is something that SonyEricsson should develop/make available - but if they're still struggling to make the phone stable, when will they have time to release VPN software?

*sigh*

Clock on bar

I think I sorted out my strange problems with sim contacts freezing and incomplete msgs by downloading and applying R7 FW again on my phone (at least thats what I think SEUS did). Seems to be running a little better, still waiting for voda update to R9:eek: .

Any1 know how to enable the clock to show on the taskbar/indicator bar at all times or if there is an app that can do this. I noticed something on themes for p990 at se-uiq.

@Trix, if you mean the green and black rectangle in the middle, bottom of the task bar on flip open mode...

that is the Swiss Manager icon

* there is apparently an updated Swiss Manager on the way with full FC functionality, so the clock will be visible on FC as well I guess...

*Edit - the new Swiss Manager is here

http://shop.My-Symbian.com/Platform...294923206&Ntt=swiss&productId=198043&R=198043

Am off to try it out....;)
