I gave them a call just now again, lady in CT said she will contact Midrand to find out where the phone is.
I will give her until 13:00. Then I am afraid all hell is gonna break loose.

MTNDD - Just to let you know, i really do appreciate u even wanting to get onto a vodacom contract customer to sort issues out for them, but im onto this one.
I already posted on hellopeter on thursday. Someone called me within the hour, but she's not really helped the process as far....

So, yes if there is a manager, I want to speak to him personally.

Is the crystal case not too "plasticy". I.o.w. does the phone still feel expensive with it? And does it clamp nicely together so that there is no 'squeaks' when handling the phone? Is it a solid fit?

Sorry, this might be all silly questions, but I'm sort of finicky when it comes to these things. No use protecting the phone while compromising on the expensive look and feel. It is too expensive for that.

SE990 as a business phone?

The SE990 sounds like a great phone. But is it overkill for someone who just needs a phone that can also browse the Internet, do mobile banking and answer emails (plus do basic Office document edits)?

I have duly RTFFed, and the Nokia 9300i, E61 and E70 seem to be the other options. My constraint is not wanting to spend ages getting up to speed on the features I need - I've read a couple of comments about the interface taking time to get used to.

Comments please :confused:

PS I see Office applications listed, but does this include MS Projects document editing?
 
@Gecko - I think the case feels pretty solid. The one I have doesn't really squeak, as I said befoe it seems well made and the clips that hold it together are secure. Plus all the 'cutouts' are aligned exactly with the ports/buttons they are meant to expose.

If I dropped the phone onto say the floor :eek: I'm sure the case would break or at least fly apart.

The plastic it is made of seems sturdy though and doesn't scratch easily ( even with crystal bling hanging off the phone ! )

Your level of satisfaction with a phone case may be different to mine, however

The UI isn't that hard to get used to.

MS projects ? Is that a separate MS app?

The phone comes with quickoffice which sports a very usable version of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. ( I have not tried out the last, but the Word and Excel apps are good and allow a very good level of document editing on the phone )
 
Well I took the plunge and ordered my Crystal case from Brando.

The only problem now is... I used my British Credit Card and put my UK address as the billing address. Normally you have to use the address where the bill goes, and normally they give you the option to put a delivery address... Well they did not :( . So it is going to the UK one. Have E-mailed them to change it, but no one has got back to me yet. O well... Sure they will.

P.S. Have you guys tried the Black theme from www.se-uiq.com ? Pretty good

Brendon, seriously! I think you want a laptop, not a phone!!

Next you gonna ask for Adobe Premiere to be installed on the phone? :eek:
