Sony Ericsson P990i

CAPDASE silicone Case

I bought the black/grey silicone CaPDAse cover (looks better than the white) for my p990 at vodashop for R140. It makes the phone look rather chunky, but I'm happy with it as I feel its better protected from unexpected knocks and falls. However, it does make the phone look less sexy:P. I've had it since December and there are a few scratches on the phone from the back plate (part of the beltclip assembly) which incidently can be removed, so that it fits better in pockets.

I took my p990 to vodaworld for debranding on Saturday but even though I asked them to remove meerkats, they just put the meerkat version back on it and I had no choice but to accept it as I was flying back to Cape Town on sunday. Apparently you have to be more specific than saying the generic sonyericsson version without any voda com/phone branding. Maybe I'll try the greenpoint guy (CPT) this coming weekend or the SE repair centre at waterfall mall before the weekend depending on whats more convenient.

BTW: I wish they would improve the software for better one-handed operation without stylus, and I'm lovin the Northern Lights theme:cool: .

Dammit! Shoot that meerkat!!!! :mad:

I ordered the crystal case for the P990i from Brando (recommended to me by aqualung) and took it off after a while - also thought the phone looked 'less' sexy. However, when I saw how scratched the back of the crystal case was, I quickly realised its value and put it back on. This phone must still last me 20 months, so must be careful.

Also on my second Martin Fields screen protector, absolutely a must with the P990i!

Anyone know of an app that allows the recording ogf a call. I found one for the S60 Nokia devices but it does not work for the P990. Its something that I need in my game.

I've assigned sound recorder to my P990i's internet button, but haven't tested it yet... :eek:
 
Yes I want to record the calls. There is a solution/app for Nokia phones. Surely there must be demand for this?

That's really bad - my 'old' Motorola V3 Razr can do it?

But, I must admit, I've never recorded a phone call before... :rolleyes:

Ja, with the latest fw it is much more stable and usable. I just wish I can see my screen better with our bright SA sun. P910's screen was perfect in that regard.
 
Since the last firmware I have not had a single restart. Mcdonalds.:)
 
Ironically - I have the 2nd latest firmware version running, and for quite some time now have been putting off re-installying SW Pro, until 2 days ago. And now it appears these 'restarts to improve performance' are more frequent. I find that odd.

have to agree with you.

also latest firmware. did use SW pro, then stopped loading it after restarts.

phone now on uptime of 7 days 2hrs . no restarts. i find it very stable.

I don;t think I'm gonna reload SW pro.

Do you close programs manually using the application manager? Or just sorta leave things as they were?

I must update my firmware!! :-)
 
I just leave things as they were.

sure it means that available ram at the moment is 4.8Mb. but it works.
the phone seems to be looking after itself nicely.
