Any ideas when this phone will be released? man it looks cool, but vodcom has no answers :(
 
Will still be a while. Probably closer to the end of the year or beginning of 2009

Yup, a recent article here on Mybroadband stated that the Xperia should be available locally in October.

It does look like one sweet phone. Guess I'll have to start saving up for one now, at least I'll have a nice deposit for once it does get here :p

I asked the question to Sony Ericsson, and the reply to me was that we can expect it in SA in December.
It is a shame though. As I'm due for an upgrade now, so the phone is out for me :(.

Will have to settle for TyTN II as the Touch Diamond probably won't be out for another couple of months either.

I eventialy asked sony as well, they replied that it will be released in October. Still too long isnt it??! :( Im also upgrading in like 3days, and was also looking at the Tytn2/Touch Diamon/Nokia N95. But the X1 looks so freaken awesome i almost wanna wait, cant though...i need a new phone hehe

So expected date would be around December maybe even next year only? Yar, thats a long time to wait... ARG... I wanted to go for the Iphone 3G but decided against it, but i still have one on back order. Also i dont like the Touch Pro that much. The X1 is looking all that little more sweeter.. :) Which one would you go for? I have the TYTN at the moment.
 
It means December. it still takes two months from their launch till the networks have it available. Also release is sometime in Q4 for SA so could still be later. but at least it will be available soon.
