is this a concept product or is it definitely coming out, the screens slide out functionality is rather cool
 
I think thats the real thing.
The slider is a great addition, it make more room for a bigger screen:)
just those buttons and the placement of them looks really awkward:( its not very ergonomic, the buttons are very low!
 
ya thats true, the analog stick should have been placed to the very far left, not nice to stretch out your thumb that much with this design

Anything Sony and PS(X) are useless in your mind. That we all know. Anyway with 30 GiG Telkom loocal available I would like to see some reasons for your "factual statement" unless you were just ... as usual.
 
Not just in terms of bandwidth used, have you looked at the PSP Store prices here? I thought no one could screw as hard as Ster Kinekor, but Sony's proven me wrong.

Patapon 2 costs $19.99 in the US, that somehow ends up costing R300 at SA shops, but on the SA Playstation Store it shoots up to R370.

Thats insignificant in this case really, because if you buy the UMD in a shop it will cost you the same price + bandwidth costs if you bought it from the PSN Store

I could say the same about you, anything Sony is God in your eyes. I own a PSP so i know what a wasted opportunity it is, the majority of people dont have internet to download a 1gb game with and wont feel like waiting a day to download the game they want.

Your "majority" of people do also not have PSP's. You have a PSP with UDM drive? If so whats the problem? Buy the disks. The new PSP do not have a UDM so there we go, you shoot down the new PSP based on your experience with the old one. The experience you created yourself, as you say you missed the boat. Now if you had a PS3 then you would not think its a wasted oppurtunity. Do yourself a favour, sell the damn thing so someone else can enjoy it because he wants too.
 
The only good Sony product is a hacked one that can play "backups" :D
 
Not to sound rude Penguin but I also think the online game shopping only option is really bad. I understand the removal of the UMD (not UDM :P) drive due to the battery power and noise but why didn't they provide the option of mem stick based games (similar to Nintendo).

Most moms and dads won't buy games online for kids and a lot of people (including myself) prefer having physical media with manuals, cover and resell-ability. So you buy the game, download the the game (Game costs + download costs) and then you end up disliking it. What now? I always feared company going fully digital download and now it has started.

Don't get me wrong, this unit will sell but the weird button placement, missing 2nd stick, no BC and online shopping might discourage a lot of people. I really liked the PSP but any handheld console or TV console I own must use physical media. I also believe that games on shelves in-store also attract a lot of buyers as with digital downloads this is completely missing.

Sure, valid thoughts, not just "Sony bashing". I for one will not buy one untill we see that its worthwhile but for existing/prospective PS3 owners it could be a nice "gadget" with remote play, video/music streaming and all..
