sony satio

For those wondering about de-branding their Satio, I used the guys at DavinciTeam. Its quick and painless - costs the equivalent of R100 which can be paid for using PayPal. The phone now has the latest firmware and when SE do decide to bring out a new release you can use SEUS. I can't understand Vodacom still forcing V-Live handsets on people who clearly do not want to live with buggy firmware long after the issues have been resolved and running in non branded handsets.

Congratulations! You've just voided your warranty! Yay! If you want it debranded Force Vodashop to do it. I throw my toys out the cot when they give me a branded phone they always de brand it for me. This Way it does not void the warranty.

Man....I debranded myelf with +- 5min!!!!! which version u want?? from Orange UK to Hongkong China...
and I dunno if you lose your warranty from Vodacom, cuz you can really say..I was trying to update..and this and that happened..I think they will install there software pack back.

In answer to your statement, I doubt whether they would refuse to honour the warranty - I took an de-branded Nokia N95 8GB for repair and they did not even query the rebranding. These days they are more interested in liquid damage or damage from being dropped. The problem is that Voda are becoming quite difficult when you ask them to put OEM firmware onto a Voda handset, its their cash cow and every handset that does not have Vlive means potential loss of sales.

How'd you do it ?

why do you want to debrand?

Cos I have a Vodafone branded phone & im on the MTN network. I cannot set my default internet access point to MTN & I cannot delete
Vodacom access points. Vodafone splash at startup & shutdown must go....

Hey can some on help me with links to download a free nav software for my phone that does not require data to work

Ok, had my Satio for a couple of months now. Lots of scratches. My sister's 15 month old twins got hold of phone and had a nice scratching and crawling exercise. Now I need to change the entire housing. Anyone know where I could buy the housing with screen if possible. Phone is only 8 months old but looks older than my 3 year old N95.
Anyone knows where I could get the housing?

I've since de-branded my Satio, lost interest & got a Nokia E72, lost interest in that & now i have a Milestone!!!

Nicky_G, sorry about your problem, dont really know where u can get replacement covers. & to make it worse, SE is not supporting the Satio anymore(no more updates).
Maybe try places like Vodaworld etc?

I am thinking of getting a Satio. Where did you see that Sony's not supporting it any more? At least the Vivaz seems to be updated still.

Last update was around feb. this year. Still a nice phone, but try for one of the newer Sony's the one that uses a mini usb for charging, the connection on my Satio is starting to get worn and am battling to charge it now.
