Sony Xperia Z1

I hereby confirm that I have the 4.3 OTA update available on my Z1.
Im on 8.ta. Base firmware was Central European.
 
Yeah! Did you install SuperSU paid for or are you upgrading and hoping for the best?

No. It stopped. But I've now learned that all the Sony system apps need to be present otherwise a OTA fails. Will download all the apps and try again tomorrow.
 
Mmm mine also downloaded, rebooted and then told me the phone could not be updated and I have to try again later. Then it needs to download everything again...

What System apps?
 
Could the preserve root setting stop the OTA? I was able to go to 257 without the need for it (I only bought the paid for version of SuperSU today) and root was preserved.
 
Seems as if Sony added root detection (from what I read on the XDA forums).

Sucks. Probably just gonna drop rooting for the moment and flash using the PC software.

In what forum did you read it? Link?
Also, did you have all your system apps?
 
Actually, I dont believe that it has something to do with root detection. This has happened before to me, while trying to upgrade to .257 from .534. I got the error once, reflashed the ftf and then it worked. Im betting on the system apps thing, and after that Ill decide if 4.3 is worth giving up root. Is it?
 
I reflashed stock firmware and rooted, and am now upgrading to 4.3 with survival mode enabled. I'd be surprised if it fails.
