South African Kali Linux Mirrors

Hi All,

I'd like to find out if anyone has information on a Kali Linux apt-get mirror based in South Africa.
My distro seems to point to Italy as the ideal server, and the download speeds are fairly poor.

Any advice would be appreciated!

1.) Yes - you're right.

I am being a bit of a git - but i'm getting a bit annoyed with every hacker script kiddy who couldn't be bothered to do some basic research.

2.) Unofficial mirrors? I know the UCT / IS mirrors are generally legit - but I personally wouldn't use an unofficial mirror (e.g. not endorsed by the distro and according to their mirror page, its not)

I googled for the last day before posting. Tried all kinds of mirrors, but could not find a ZA mirror. Please look at the question where I clearly stated my requirement for a za mirror before making snide assumptions and remarks.

You could check that the md5 is still correct, no?

Why don't you select a different overseas mirror that is faster? There should be tools for debian to test the repo server speeds automatically.

Italy was the fastest one I could find and that was still quite slow
 
I was using a local one last month or so, not sure if its still online, but I'll have a look when I get a chance and let you know.

Not custom repo. I was looking for a local official mirror. Turns out there are no official kali mirrors in ZA at present. For my lab system, I will use the unofficial mirror though as I am not really concerned about the integrity of this machine

Why not start your own mirror then?
 
Not a bad idea! Think I'll do that on the LAN. Unfortunately don't have fast enough upload to host publicly.

I'm 99.99999% certain that if you downloaded the files from the uct, is & official kali mirrors , yeah it's about 500GB worth of files and you hashed the files from all three they would match.

What you should do is get hold of kali, is & uct and get them onto the list of kali repos.
