South African Speedtest.net server growth

Adding more local servers is almost pointless. Our main constraint is intl bandwidth.

With all the cables landing here over the next few years I don't know if this will be the case for much longer.
 
These servers are nothing more than to illustrate how crap how bandwidth is.
 
Great news. More SpeedTest.net servers will help alot. It will take some strain off the existing servers, and allow users to test against servers to which they are closer, thus providing more accurate results. Also, it's a sign of more competition in the internet arena. First Altech, then Telkom, then Vodacom, now Neology. I would expect to see a few more large ISPs/backbone providers (like IS, MTN, iBurst, Neotel, etc) to jump on the bandwagon in the future. Each ISP hosting their own SpeedTest.net servers will also help with marketing their businesses...

Why do you guys always make everything out to be doom and gloom??

I didn't know Neology was started by / affilliated with MyBB members. Any ideas who these people are?

The latest edition brings the total number of local of South African Speedtest.net servers to six – based in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Midrand, Pretoria and Durban – a much better situation than a few months ago.

Speedtest

Hi Guys,
My speed test completed shows Download 0.39 mb/s and upload at 0.06mb/s.
My connection is DSL384.
Why does the upload seem so low?...
