been wondering if anyone has an actual, progressive and successful all South African guild.

Closest I know of was Death By Tray or Death By Cake that was on Karazhan but I heard their 25man team fell apart.

Interesting to see how wrong stories can spread...

They still raiding, I know I am a casual in there and see guild chat and the raiding on a weekly basis.

There are other SA guilds though.

NP on TH still raids, only 10mans though and 25man with joint guild ventures.

Dont know the rest but I know there are more.
 
Explicit on Spinebreaker was a successfull SA guild. Numbers got few and then later took on Players from all over. They still raiding, no idea how far they are but I'm not playing on there no more.

Very much so. Remember you will always get people that say, ah guild x is going to fall apart for whatever reason, as long as everyone in the same guild don't fall for the false statements the guild will do fine.

How does any bank fail? One person starts rumours that the bank will fail, everyone start by taking out their investments from the bank which does cause them to fail.
 
FoA on Laughing Skull still raids 10/25 man content. ToC10 heroic cleared - working on 25 man heroic ToC.
 
I see a lot of people just playing for fun and good times, which is probably the way it should be. The days of progression mattering to joe soap are pretty much over.

I completely agree. While I may be in a guild that does raid hardcore, I am on a casual rank, meaning I only raid if there is a alt raid needing a spot filled and on a very rare occasion I might help out when they short on players.

Mostly I just joined pug heroics and do some pvp. I do occasionally join 25/10man pugs but I am lucky since I have most achievements for that since I did it with the raider alts.

Depends what you are after, some people, like myself, enjoy pushing the hardest content and beating it. I don't think you would call it hardcore since I honestly don't care if we are the first people to do it or the last, just as long as we are doing it. Some people are content with farming normal content getting the best loot they can and waiting for the next raid and that's fine because there are just so many ways to enjoy wow these days that measuring your enjoyment by how "progressed" you are compared to other people just seems silly.

I'm starting to feel similar to this. Hardcore raiding is fun and all but it gets pretty tiring after a while.
 
I don't particularly feel hardcore. We still get around to doing the encounters on hard mode but we hardly rush around trying to compete for server 1sts. Tbh I am not sure thats possible for a predominantly SA guild anymore anyway.
 
My bug was , i raided my ass off for gear and whatnot and then when the dust settled...then what? Hell i couldn't even take that phat lewts into BG's or arena because those psychos with their 900+ resilience simply dismantle me, so i had to start all over getting regeared in pvp loot.

Hardcore raiding is a treadmill, and the day you step off it, you wonder why you ever stepped on it in the first place. So you can do some crazy dps in a 5man for gear/emblems you no longer need and feel good about yourself? Odds are the pugs don't even care in the slightest.
At the very end of the day, what did you get out of it, out of all that work and farming and wiping?

Better to have the occasional raid for lulz when you really feel like and and have nothing better to do, imo. I'm just waiting for Cataclysm. Might level up an alt. REalized i had much more fun actually levelling and doing 5mans and BG's than actual raiding.
 
mm im the gm of a half S.A guild haha we have about 18 S.A players and about 20 europeans.. all english speaking tho no hong fong stuff

we have done 6/14 uld 10 HM

and attempted toc 10 downed 1 boss

DPS Officer, 4th most progressed guild on server, Realm 3rd Naxx, Realm 4th Malygos, Realm 6th Sarth 3D. Eventually merged with realm 2nd guild, then stopped raiding to screw around with EVE.

Do you mean hard mode cause then I'll retract what I said/
 
dps officer doesnt mean u manage and organise the raids.. and lead them...
