Uhm, where is the mention of VPS? Did they forget to add it in?

Has this been covered by Mybroadband recently? Where are the articles on VPS?
 
As an eye opener, a vps with BCX:
1 cpu , 8gig ram, 1tb ssd storage, with backups , costs 13k per month.

Yeah, also know someone on the older packages, still trying to figure out why they're paying so much, but can't move as they can't afford the down time for emails.
 
Hetzner have a major security hole with their hosting control panel, where the SSL certificate hasn't been updated since February 2018.... I don't know how this is even possible, but there it is.... :oops::rolleyes:

I've been hosting with them since 2014. Their pricing is fantastic (from R225 p/a), their support is superb, and my site is always online, secure, and backed up.

From my point of view, they deserve a spot on the podium!
 
Hello hosting experts.

What options are there for small-fry home-users like me? The table on this article showed most are above what home-users pay for.

I have a "silver" Linux shared web hosting package with Afrihost for cheap-as-chips R39 p/m. I do not use the website at all, just put up a static page,. Sometimes I play around with it, but for now just reserved for future use. I took the package so that I can have my own domain for email.

So what other options are there for this cheapie price? Are there any?

I'd love to use the Gmail interface for my email if possible. I used to be able to do so before. I allowed Google to manage my email by changing some MX record settings or something like that (not regular fetching email from Afrihost server, you can still do that, but something to do with MX records). I cancelled that for some reason a few years ago, and now I see that they charge for it, no longer free.

So ja, what other hosts can provide what I can from Afrihost and maybe also Gmail integration at a similar price point?
