'South Korea will remove evolution from its high school textbooks'

i disagree, perhaps i am wrong but due to mutations and the genes passed down some organisms are better and faster. you can have a group of gizelle being chased by a lion, and with eliminating luck and other factors like age and gender, you have two animals with slight differences competing to outrun a predator.

there are too many factors to list, but of course some animals will have an evolutionary edge like having darker fur making them better camoflauged, having a larger wing span making flying easier, and so forth.
Those are characteristics contributing towards a specific phenotype. Is phenotype synonymous with fitness for you?

So why did lizards become birds? Just a link will suffice.

How about we try and stop asking, "Do you BELIEVE in evolution" and instead ask "Do you UNDERSTAND evolution"?.

Let's be real. No need to Google a link that Apache could have done himself because lets face it, he won't read your link.

Erm, yes?

If one rabbit inherits a white fur phenotype and another a black fur phenotype, which rabbit will more likely survive in a snowy area filled with predators?

Thats a defeatist attitude. If asked for a link post the link.

I must have missed the facts in this post of yours, where are they again? Links to people disproving the theory of evolution please?
Or are you one of those misinformed people who thinks the theory of evolution describes the beginning of life? For clarity, the theory of evolution has NOTHING to do with the origin of life...
What is life ?

PS - where do you think we came from?
As I have said, in this discussion, it is irrelevant. This discussion is about soup-to-man evolution being a crock.

I can provide you with links, but feel like you are not goign to be interested in them or will only half read them, so i'm going to provide you with the links and you can run off and read them ignoring everything i say if you wish, but if you reply i'd just like to know if you have read them and what you think, as either of us can learn from this if you are interested, coz i am interested in either learning something new or helping you understand something better.

Two links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_birds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_avian_flight

Now while evolution is a fact, the exact way birds evolved is not fact as far as I remember. There is too little to go on. Dinosaurs are not lizards, despit the name meaning terrible lizard

I wasn't responding to you.

If you know Apache you know its futile to provide links he won't read.
If he asks why did lizards evolve into a bird in one thread and ask for a link for proof, he will ask the same in another thread. He doesn't read it because he doesn't actually care.

Can ask anyone this to verify.

Sorry, I must have AGAIN missed the part where you dispoved evolution instead of moving the goal posts and spouting forth unverified, opinionated nonsense. Silly me...

One more time please, you said the theory of evolution has been disproven. Can you please enlighten as all as to how that was done?

yes, because a phenotype of an organism's genes are an expression of it's genes. if an oragnisms genes means that it will have a bigger heart, then it is clearly a benefit

Genes are of course not the only thing that contributes towards an individual's phenotype. But just to be sure, you would define fitness as an individual's phenotype?

He just said that?! Do you deliberately try to trip people up with big words the whole time instead of arguing the actual point?

again i could be wrong, but i would. for beavers you can even think of their ability to build reliable dams as an expression of their genes and intelligence. some organisms survive on strenght, some survive on stealth, some survive on speed, some survive on intelligence

So fitness = phenotype for you too?

No, phenotypes contribute to fitness in certain ways like in the environment in the example I gave.
Blue eyes can make you more fit because people who are attracted to blue eyes might find want to fsck you more.

Having a slightly smaller pinky probably doesn't do anything. So again, no.
