SouthTel Push VOD:TV launch delayed once again: Report

PATHETIC.

Yet ANOTHER company just wasting public funds and resources and doing absolutely nothing with it.

They say they will try again in early 2012, they will probably delay again and delay until early 2013.

It's a shame that almost every article relating to SA business usually ends with dissapoint.

I think the problem is the regulation committee and the likes of ICASA and those responsible for making sure these companies do what they are suppose to do. Company CEO's and executives are sitting around getting paid but not producing anything towards the consumer.

What happened to Supply and Demand?

They also plan to launch but that hasn't happened... they like planning it seems

I, for one, don't mind delays.

I'd far rather they launch a product that they're comfortable with as opposed to releasing a piece of garbage.

They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't, so they may as well release something that works and a take a while to do so.

Completely agree VioAdmin!

Although, if it's HD content, and the content is good. I might consider.

Its okay to wait for something brand new and revolutionary. But when you're waiting for a bog standard thing that the whole world has had for years wtf is the point? Imagine waiting for the first cellphone to "launch" in 2012 when the world has had cellphones since 1970! WTF are you waiting for? We look like a bunch of baboons in africa who don't know sheat from bananas!

Its farken video on demand it's not nuclear science! Netflix moered a website on the internet and they were done with that sheat... its old news, its stale, its nothing new and we'll get it in the future! because anything impresses the dumb dumbs in africa right?

/breathe in and out and in and out...

This would mean I would need another decoder / PVR thingie. No thanks, I already have an HD-PVR

Agreed - don't need another device.

But another (better, cheaper, less arrogant, fewer reruns - need I continue?) service provider would be good.
And thinking about it, DSTV's HD-PVR is actually pretty poor technology - another device could maybe be better.

Every delay puts multichoice in a stronger market position

What public funds?

Bad name choice

The VOD:TV brand is a bad choice imho. Too close to VOD.TV (as Thinus Ferreira also refers to it). Btw, don't lookup VOD.TV (seriously NSFW)....

Go try any service provider anywhere in the world that doesn't do hoards of re-runs...

At least they add new material on a regular basis in the countries I've been to. And they don't charge the local equivalent of R600 pm either.

Price is a lot cheaper overseas, yes, but most of what you see on DSTV is just fed from the European broadcasters anyway.
