SpaceX Falcon Heavy set for launch tonight

Anyone know what was the thing in the payload called the “ark” ?

Something about storing information and sending it into space ?

Something else to say, in all the sci-fi books I ever read, they never mention the ability to land an re-use boosters. That is such an amazing tech that will help us reach the stars so much quicker.

Think of voyager disks, basically a digital record of mankind.

SpaceX has revealed that the rocket will be carrying another couple of things, as well as the car and its passenger, known as Starman. One of them is from the Ark Project, which will send a hardy piece of data into space – presumably in the hope that one day aliens or distant humans could stumble across it ...

From the looks of it the core tried to sink the drone ship.

The center core was only able to relight one of the three engines necessary to land, and so it hit the water at 300 miles per hour. Two engines on the drone ship were taken out when it crashed, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said in a press call after the rocket launch.
