Spartacus - The series

OK since someone resurrected the thread.

Blood and Sand was great. Gods of the Arena was ok.

Vengeance is meh.

So yeah kinda ploughing through atm.

Woke Spartacus REBOOT is a DISASTER! | Spartacus: House of Ashur Trailer RATIOED!

Question. Did starz sell this as a reboot, or as we all know its a continuation of ushar taking up a house after the fallout of previous series?

I don't mind a whoman doing the gladiator bits, surely there was at least one good fighting female, but black. lol ~ literally plays into the strong non white female boss lady fatigue.

Ashur was decapitated. This kak is a "what if Ashur didn't die" story, it has no historical grounding...

I see. Not sure why I was thinking he made it *shrugs*. Should we care about historical grounding? I think people sometimes steam roll to much into being historically correct. There is books for that kak, or lookup youtube history simulation.

In the end it should somewhat be entertaining, have a story and dialogue ticking the basic check boxes minus having fires in open space (actual space, not open spaces as braai).

I may still give this a change and see if its watchable. But the trope and its fatigue is already off putting.

I care about it. Don't mind if there's a few inaccuracies and changes for dramatic effect, but the core should be based in some level of historical accuracy.

At no point in history were there black female gladiators, trying to be equal to men, wtf. I would think as a slave, your biggest concern should be that you're a slave, not being equal to men. Forgetting the fact that at the time even male slaves were not equal to men of other classes...

I was about to chew someones head off for Necroing. Then I read the post about woke reboot. Now I am definitly going to chew heads....

Starz should have remade xena princess warrior but keep to same or more level of blood, sex and violence. Win.
