HI Guys

Could you explain to me why would I have a huge speed difference between a number of "ADSL speed test" compared to a download from Downstorm.
I have a Afrihost Capped account. ( full speed ) The ADSL TEST from different Test sites average around 6500kbps and the Downstorm is around 10 Megs.

So does that mean my surfing the net is only 6500kbps ?

Thanks

Most ADSL speed test sites use single threaded downloads to calculate your throughput. Downstorm uses multiple connections or multithreaded downloads (pieces of the file is pulled from multiple mirrors), so it all adds up to a quicker download.

Does web browsing seem sluggish? AFAIK most websites limit connection speeds; similar to the way users limit connections for uploading on P2P. This won't be the culprit here though, neither will single thread browser use.
