So I have two hours to go before I hit the road....

HO informs me that she does not think that the backups on two of the work PC's were running properly...

I go upstairs, she is correct.....

Pc 1 , no problem, 9 GB backed up to ext HDD.

Pc 2, Manual backup in progress....... that blerriegreen line is taking forever...... after 95 minutes it is only on 25cm of the total 60cm.... (yep! we measured it)..... at this rate, it will take another three hours to complete...

Am i wrong to judge the time it will take to complete by watching the speed on the green line, seeing as it might be busy with large files and might go quicker when going to the small files?

What happens if it is not finished backing up and I need to hit the road...... can I just close the laptop , keep the external drive plugged in ...... drive and then resume when I get to my overnight stop?

Stooopid backups!

Interesting way to measure progress. :D
Smaller files tend to copy slower than large ones.

Sitting on 58% after two hours, does this necessarily mean that it will take another two hours to complete then?

Just found the cancel button........ when closing time arrives and I gotta go.... then I will be pressing that button....

Does your program not have an option to turn off your computer when the backup completes?

If it doesn’t, is it possible to set your Windows Power Options to shut down the computer after a predefined amount of time?

I have to take the laptop with me on the road....

The backup drive was meant to be locked in the safe....

Now I will land up taking the backup drive and laptop with me.....

Are you copying it via USB or your network?
