MTU and slow Speed???

MTU and other settings can be configured to tweak your connection
THIS IS NOT A FIX BUT AN IMPROVEMENT ie if you get 100kbits down you prob won't get 800kbits after this

Anyone having problems with speed try this program
TCPoptimizer

Intsructions:

Does what the helpdesk did with me except automatically.
run the maxMTU first and use this value for MTU
for TCP recieve window use:

max multiple of (MTU-40) less than 65535
*4

Eg MTU=1500
max multiple =44
1460*44=64240
64240*4=256960

if this still doesn't work switch MTU discovery to off
(AS recommended by the helpdesk)

alternative: DR TCP IP

open cmd prompt type in ping -f www.iburst.com -l xxxx

where xxxx is a value below 1500 such that the ping response does not say truncated. Repeat untill you find a maximum value and ADD 28 to it
This is your optimum mtu

Type it in under ras and mtu in dr tcp ip
for TCP recieve window use:

max multiple of (MTU-40) less than 65535
*4

Eg MTU=1500
max multiple =44
1460*44=64240
64240*4=256960

For the rest:

win scale: on
time stamp: off
select acks: off

mtu path dis: off
black hole: off
ttl:64
