Speeding fine... mmmmmmmmmm!

been a while since i got a fine. and i was pushing it yesterday. damn new GTi has quite an edge on me. do they still have that 50% discount if you pay early?

I am not sure about discounts but I always write to them and state my side of the case. Like it was good conditions and I did not endanger anyones lives but that I will be more attentive in the future. This gets it reduced by 50% most of the times.

:D You should get fined daily just for driving a VAGti.

no man, i was racing a GTi with my BM. My BM is getting old. I think I must chip it and get another 2kW :erm:

Ah ! OK . Well in that case they need to scrap all pending fines against you because you were doing "community service" in your BM

I sometimes wonder why I don't get any more fines. Either I'm very lucky or they don't have my current address anymore... What happens to unpayed fines after a few years if you never received them?

Well you are supposed to update your address when you renew your vehicle license. If they cant get the fine to you cos of that then there could be problems for you in court. On the flipside if they were negligent in getting the fine to you after a preset time I believe it's supposed to be scrapped.

Sigh got a nice R800 one downhill towards Somerset Mall (from Stellenbosch direction)l... 126 in the 80 zone :/ spotted the bushmen too late :(

Oh I love coming down that hill. There is always some 4$$hole behind you that thinks you are crazy for doing 80km/h downhill and when you give way they nail it..... straight past the bushmen :p

Sometime they are at the top of the hill right under the bridge. But on the strand road I never exceed the limit by more that 10km/h cause it is vrot of the cameras. If you have the need to hammer it (and you have a good suspension) try Anandale road between the R44 and Lyndoch.

Are the new laws in place? Like you can't even go 61 in a 60 zone or skip the orange light?

What are you on about?

The orange light is there so you can stop if you can actually stop safely, in time. I don't see them changing that soon. I'm not even going to bother commenting on the 61 in a 60 zone one :/

Ja ma die verskil is ek ry al jare meer as 80 daarso en dis die eerste keer wat ek gevang word... ongelukkig ry ek gewoonlik net so 100, ma die betrokke aand was ek laat vir movie :(

Just heard about it...not sure if its true but I agree with the orange light wtf

i have not driven in Europe but I have driven with some foreigners that would drive real conservative and not speed up to get thro an amber light. Also, if the fine for going thro a red light was like R10k as is the case in some countries it will surely make a difference especially to taxis.

They don't need to change it, most idiots already speed up when the light turns amber.
