Been a while since my last post and i have definately noticed better speeds over the last 1-2 days. On my 128k Package i am maintaining 8-12 KB which is acceptable. Also from an average of 250-300 pings plus on an fps game, i now maintain 150-200 pings, not a drastically huge improvement but a improvement none-the-less. I hope im not jynxing myself posting this :p . Also, my local bandwidth, using torrents absolutely suck ass, but international i get the aboved mentioned speeds, kinda wierd.

i must agree here the BW has improved ill garuntee that there will be a press release by ST claiming that they have got the 5-6% in control and steps taken against them are paying off or some other B$ and lies

Yep, things have been fine with my connection for over a week. AND IT ONLY TOOK THEM THREE MONTHS TO FIX! How is that for customer service!

pfft. no. still sucks...

Mine are worse than ever since the Upgrade this morning......

This "JOKE" of a service is getting worse yet they tell us it is getting better!!!

YEH RIGHT.........

how was your speed on Mintek last night regard? Mine actually picked up for a while! I got 13kB/s *gasp* yes! can you believe it!?

It's still only half of what I'm supposed to be getting, but it's better than nothing.

It did die again later in the evening though, and Mintek was VERY erratic last night - up and down the whole time, dying, coming back... was lots of fun... so I ended up watching my Buffy the Vampire Slayer series DVDs - much more fun than struggling with this k@k.

Morning Kia,

My experience of Mintek was much the same ... BUT .. as 12pm neared the ping times just started climbing ... by midnight ping times were around the 550ms range and packet loss at about 7%...

I don't know WHAT they're doing but please god let there be PROGRESS.

they seem to be doing something that leans towards good... but shhhh... dont' jinx it! :)

well another update, it seems something has been done in my area (DBN). I have held quite awesome speeds over a few days with quite playable ping times. When Mywireless works it works.

errr.. what the hell? My speeds are still sucking big time. CHeck this out, I've been trying to mail this to sentech but their SMTP server seems to be down.

At one o clock this afternoon a friend of mine with dial-up gave both me and a friend of ours with ADSL a bittorrent file to download. He used his normal dial-up connection and started at one o'clock as did we. We took marker after exactly four hours (5 pm)

Here are the results :

Sean : (ADSL) - 51.745 Kb/s - 745128Kb (745.1Mb) in 4 hours
Ricky : Mweb Dialup : 4.07Kb/s - 58608Kb (58.6Mb) in 4 hours
Bob(Me) : Sentech : 0.937 Kb/s - 13500Kb (13.5Mb) in 4 hours

So as you can see my speeds are still chokin on the d***

oh well

Whatever these monkeys are doing to the towers have affected my speed as well. I had great speed when my tower was 22 - now that i am 66 nothing; all speed has gone down the hole. dorris? nonroker? how is your guys speed since tower number change? i hardly get above 2KB/s on ftp and p2p sucks at 5KB/s.

yeh. speeds were up on Monday night for a while, and then dipped back to useless again...

*shrug*

mrbob, I was about to do a similar test myself.
Last night I downloaded a total of *drumroll* - 8 MB. In an 8 hour period.
I can get better speeds if I sit down and type 1's and 0' into a file.

HAHAHAHAH Bishop , I got 9.3 Mb over about 8 hours so yeah baby! Feel my broadband! WOOHOO
:P

Yup the speed is up .... no wait .. it's down again... tower goes down .. no speed .. tower comes up so does the speed .. no wait it's gone down again. Next mood change 6 seconds.

my speeds are so **** right now it's disturbing, getting just under 0.8Kb/s off a local p2p server...

:o
