Speedster caught doing 189km/h

Noxi, if you are speeding at the cops try to pull you over you have to be man enough not to flee. Look, this guy nearly killed other people because he could not accept responsibility for his actions.

There are other people, animals and other things you can't bargain to be exactly as it were last time you did 185. My friend speeded without belts into pothole right into heaven.

I can also drive 200 in a 60, but it takes just one random event to send you or someone else to kingdom come.

And you always drive 100% in the speed limit? 1km over the limit is speeding. I would love to know how many of the stone throwers here actually do drive like angels after having thrown the first stone.

Speeding if your car is able to handle it and road conditions allow for it I'm actually not too concerned about. Overtaking on a blind rise or corner really pisses me off though.
 
After reading some of these replies, I now see why SA has the highest accident/fatality rate in the world.

You guys are bloody crazy if you think 189 isn't speeding. Add cattle, goats, pedestrians, potholes, other cars into the mix and you are begging to die and take a few people with you.

Do you realize how fast 120 is? By that same logic cattle, goats and blah blah are just as dangerous. Go hit a cow at 120 i am fairly sure the damage will be plenty. We should perhaps make the speed limit 60 on all roads and maybe 80 as a maximum. :D

I disagree. Put nice barriers along the highways, with nice middle embankments and remove the speed limit all together on the highways. Instead of forcing people to slow down, make it safer for them to speed and then see what happens. It has proven to be working in Germany.

In Germany they do not have woman drivers in huge BMW's going 60 in the fast lane. :erm:
 
Too many people argue for low speed limits based on nonsense like livestock and pedestrians. Why not deal with those things that don't belong on these roads in the first place. As far as I'm concerned any idiot that runs blindly across a road like the N1 or N2 deserves it if they get run down. In fact that holds on any road.

Throw in some death squads then. They can roam the roads shooting these idiots in the head. Not too long ago there was a DA moron on the radio down here who thought it was fine for people to drive in whatever lane they felt like regardless of how slow they might be driving.

It's quite fast, but how fast depends a lot on what you're driving and the driver.

Livestock, potholes and pedestrians are a reality on the EL-Umtata road.

But... reverting to the OP: would you have done what he did? With 2 kids in the car?

Happens here in Jhb too. Fixed camera in a 100 km/h zone, and people travelling at 80 km/h will still slam on their brakes. It's almost like they're trying to say "hey look at how clever I am, I saw a fixed camera and I bet you didn't". Makes me want to drive into the back of them.
