Spotify Premium now available for R5.99

Pointless without the native ability to migrate your playlists, likes etc. from other music services like Google Play Music. Just way too much effort to start from scratch again.

There are sites that can do that. Soundiiz.com claims to be able to migrate playlists between all major platforms.

I browse and choose my own music...not worries about some vague algorithm based "this is what you like" BS.

You're kidding right? You don't know 99.9% of the music out there.

I discover more music relevant to my tastes on Spotify in a day than a month with other services. It's the single reason Spotify has so many paid customers.

Spotify android app better than Apple music atleast for me I have no issues.

I love that I can control from one device to another.

There is also no way some random machine learning will ever really understand what I like, except from what I am already listening to.

I learn about new music from movie and especially TV series soundtracks anyway...

They already have 2 billion + playlists and I find the Spotify generated ones are pretty spot on. No need to start from scratch at all.

Can still do that too with popular series usually having playlists on Spotify.
 
Seems like you can’t get this when you used the free month they usually give you, I used the free month on premium but since then the free version. Can’t take up this 3 month offer.

I see you can get 3 months premium for just R10.00 at Deezer. They always run specials from time to time.
 
No yearly subscription? Tsek.

They aren't luring any students away from Apple Music at those prices either.

I didn't find the Discovery isn't that 'vague' either ; was pretty decent.
When creating a playlist, it's also pretty damn accurate!
Plus the social integration is neat ... ie listening to others' 90s playlists.

But if you want a 'click and play my track', then yea - you can get Deezer or anything basic out there

It does actually have an EQ, but on Android it uses the system EQ. So if your ROM doesn't allow the user to mess with the EQ, it doesn't show up, e.g. LG doesn't work but I think it does work on most Samsung devices. https://www.howtogeek.com/332116/how-to-enable-an-equalizer-for-spotify-on-ios-and-android/

Also quite annoyed why they can't just use their own one, but yeah.
Am currently a sub, even though I am a student and could get Google's or Apples one cheaper because I prefer the recommendation algorithm, iTunes sucks and there is a noticeable quality degradation.

If you're using Google Play Music, https://www.googleplaymusicdesktopplayer.com/ is a desktop app for it.

Spotify's Android app leaves a lot to be desired, like basic gesture support, but it's actually pretty fine to use generally. Now if they could have a PowerAmp partnership...

@Knyro, I am a student and use it, now what? :p
