Sprecken zei espanjola??? (Wierd VDC 3G sms)

" Vodacom: You have used your monthly data bundle, and can continue at the out of bundle rate. NOTE:T¿ùTæ/Y£S?Ö棣$T$=G?T?LMæ?ÉsXò<<ÉÑÇS?NFWea_ÖùLÅ=åCSbDVèMM! "

I received this SMS on my 3G card this afternoon. I understand the part about using my monthyl bundel (that happens every month) but what is the rest all about?

First i thought someone was just taking the piss with this post but now ive received 3 in less than 20min and it certainly aint ne language.... just a bunch of @ signs.

This is the one, the rest are very similar:
ø@@@E£@@¡T@@@?¥@@@£@@@@@@@@¡è@@@8@@@4ò@@@Ü@@@h?@@@<£@@¿pÅF§Ui!r#£@@@£@@@@@@@@@@@@@IsWù@@@@@dé"r¥
.Ö@pO§??*AHö@@@@ Ä$_y-@@@@p&z@S@@@@XM§?0@@@@h"?5@@@@@ é?.@Z@@@?QF >(@@@¡@@@@@@(£@XrWùH/THÉZh/

Has anyone found a reasoning for this?

Can we get an answer please V3G?

Ok, im getting these weird sms's now from as little as 5min apart and its really p***ing me off as im sure you can figure out how many msg's that is in a day. The message types range from "Status reports", "Unknown SMS Message type" and even the ones with just characters.

Where and why are these messages been sent?

Same here

Every so often I get those funny sms's.

Any idea how to turn it off?

I doubt you gonna get an answer anytime soon, ive been waiting for ages now but i assume not even they themselves know the problem which makes it even worst.

Good thing i was with MTN before cos now im using their dash :D <----- only way to switch it off

I'm glad my contract with vodac expires soon... :D :D :D

Im glad i dont have one..... last time i had a contract ( Talk120 with SE P880i ), phone got stolen so tried to claim from the insurance i took out.... short story they said no so i stopped paying for the contract. 8 mnths later they wanted me to pay all the subscription fees (which was R315/m ) up to that date so i told them "no probelm, only if you credit me with all my minutes due for those 8mnths which was about close to 1000min"... soon after vodacom dropped the story and i was set free :D

Sorry, somehow I thought I answered this :o . Normally when ic talks, I jump! :)

Where are these SMS's coming through? In the VMC dash?

If so, it might be an old problem we had a while ago. some of the older modem firmware / VMC software versions had a problem in interpreting non-SMS messages as a SMS. An MMS, for example.

I think it was specifically with Huawei modems.

So, the first step would be to upgrade everything to the latest versions and see if it helps?

How many of you fall into the above?

Who do not?
