The countdown has begun to Sundays match (Kick-off 15:00)

Looks like Fiji has developed quite a following in France, as have all the minnows. I think it's going to sound like a home game for them. Just to add to the home game feeling, they'll probably run out in their alternate strip which is blue.

and these are some big words -

and there's -

Springbok coach Jake White believes he and his technical staff have now had enough time and material to study the Fiji team they will face in Sunday’s World Cup quarterfinal at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille.
The Fiji victory over Wales in last week’s Pool D decider in Nantes came as a shock to White. He has admitted that he has done most of his analysis on Wales.

“I think most people would have agreed that Wales should go through. As management, once we knew we had topped our pool, we started to prepare for the Welsh and we started to look at their strengths and their weaknesses. Obviously the Fiji result made that a waste of time,” said White.

Should be a cracker of a match! You shouldnt underestimate the Fijians as on any good day they can deliver. SA on the contrary has relied more on brute force and veteran substitutes to turn the tide when games dont go to plan.

/off topic

All Blacks FTW! :D

Really looking forward to all the Rugby this weekend. Awesome games both Saturday and Sunday.

We should be able to control the game against Fiji, keep it tight and starve them of the ball.
If we can frustrate them a bit thats would be excellent as well.

At this stage of the competition, all that counts is that you win, it doesn't have to be entertaining hehe.

I wonder if Fiji has ever played in front of a bigger crowd before, especially one that offer them majority support?

Do not darken this thread again. :p:cool:

Start your own thread. "Little Grey Men vs France" lol

My apologies. Thats why it said "off topic". :p

Nah, this weekend has some big matches, hope they are all exciting and coupled with a few surprises too!

Uhm, Chokers! Chokers!....maybe not. I will hold thumbs and toes!

Yeah! I agree I think it won't be pretty because a win is a win at this stage. It'll be enough to get the juices flowing though!

I am worried that a "frustated" Fiji might like to turn to fisticuffs, and then I worry about citings and suspensions going forward. I suppose the Boks must just play the game as it turns out and worry about the consequences on the bus to the semi final!

Rubgy team are not chokers

they only loose when outplayed, they dont outplay themselves like protea's

i think the only team that stands in our way of world cup glory is the all blacks

there is no need for jinxing, fiji is easy

Surprises yes please, like the Frogs ripping a new one for all the little grey men :D:D

What happens if Jake plays a second string team again, and the star-studded bench can't do the job in the second half and the bokke end up loosing to fiji?

Why the hell would Jake play a second string team??

This is a QUARTER FINAL, its a huge game, you can not compare this game to the Tonga game.

Didnt they say Wales would be through as well? Didnt Jack White plan for that? Surprise surprise. ;)

He is not playing the reserves, as I understand it it will be a full strength side, excluding the walking wounded that is.
