A criminal record only displays information where a person was either convicted or acquitted in a court of law.
Matters that were not prosecuted and arrests are not displayed on a criminal record.
Some police officer who had access to the SAPS CAS system can get access to cases reported against a person and arrests. This information cannot be used in a court or elsewhere. It can only be used by police officers during the course of investigations.
That being said, this information was accessed unlawfully and the police can see which force number was used to log into the system and conducted the search.
