No, I have never met all SA men and I never said all SA men are like that. I said a lot of them are like that. I stand by my statement whether that makes me sexist or not. I believe it to be the truth otherwise there wouldn't be such a prevailing and persistent abuse of women and children in this country. Refusing to see or turning a blind eye to it or refusing to admit it is part of the problem.

Spur confrontation "sends poor message to children": Gender Equality Commission

The Commission for Gender Equality has weighed in after video footage of two parents arguing at an eatery went viral online.

The group's Mbuyiselo Botha says the altercation sends a poor message to the children who witnessed it firsthand.

Recognising that we have a very high incidence of violent crime and especially rape and that the majority of perpetrators are men would help. It's not sexism to point that out and to ignore it means the issue will never be dealt with properly.

And who do you think is responsible for this impression that society has of women?
It's the dads who sit their little boys down and tell them never to hit a girl. It's the dads who tell them boys don't cry. It's men who maintain the impression that men can't be raped. Men need to wake up. My boys know never to hit a girl, but if they're at risk of bodily harm, they have every right to defend themselves by any means necessary.

You know how people say that Muslim extremism is a problem for Muslims people to deal with (there is a whole thread here about it) and how it's said that moderate Muslims must speak out and publicly take a stand against extremism or their silence can be considered part of the problem?

It's the same thing here. It may be true that most men are not violent and rapists , or even misogynist, but unless all men recognise this is a problem for men to deal with and unless good men speak out and publicly take a stand against misogyny, things will not change. A man supports 'small' misogynistic tendencies, who laughs at misogynistic jokes, for example, men who never stand up publicly against this problem, who always try to defend or justify such behaviour are part of the problem. Silence is just as much a part of the problem as blatant support of male violence in society.

It is exactly the same reasoning though. The vast majority of men don't commit violence against woman, just like the vast majority of black people are not criminals. However it is politically correct to say that men are rapists and criminals, yet politically incorrect to say that black people are rapists and criminals.

I thought you SJW types were all for treating people as individuals. Except if those individuals happen to be white or male it seems. Then it is perfectly fine to make sweeping generalisations.
