Spur Incident

Another one who is not taking sides I suppose?

Ironic how MyBBers are always carrying on about how softie SJWs get triggered by words, but are sympathetic to this guy. I guess words really do have an effect, judging by how this guy's reaction.

Some big men around here have to restrain themselves from physically assaulting women after being triggered by words.

I've said my bit. He overreacted and she acted like a race-baiting lunatic. What's more to say? If you see it differently then let us know but don't pretend to be some sort of moral authority on this matter when your standard agenda here is clear as day.

You know that you are also part of the ‘MyBBers’ community? There is no excuse for the guy’s verbal abuse. The video however has set a racial narrative, ignoring what has caused the escalation. Both parties are in the wrong from my perspective.

Your child being hit by another child is hardly just "words" ...

Didn't expect him to literally threaten her with a PK though :crylaugh:

If you listen to her she claims that his child hit her child first, and that her child hit back in retaliation.

But who knows?

/shrug

Anyway little kids get hit by other kids all the time. They could have talked it out like adults and I'm sure the wrong party would discipline their child accordingly. But no, he reacts like a toddler himself.

Just pointing out hypocrisy when I see it.

Indeed, he claims he witnessed the entire thing ...

I've seen plenty of the defensive behaviour the woman was demonstrating in the past though. Kids playing in the street hit your car with a soccer ball? Yup, I'm a racist for pointing it out to the parents etc etc etc ad infinitum.

Hence, through admittedly biased direct past experience, I'd be inclined to believe the person who first raises the issue rather than the one who spews racist vitriol in defense.

Ding! Ding!

As a man, there is little upside to arguing with a woman, no matter what the context. You'll always look like the *********, irrespective of whether you're right or wrong, or even if the woman could beat up the man arguing with her

In public opinion one may say, but, legally we are all equal in sunny SA. However, it is not excusable to act like that in front of children, neither for the mother, but she did not promote violence, did she? All we have is the video, but the guy painted himself badly in legal rights.

Guy was in the right. Woman went off her rocker and pulled the race card because she is too thick to find a better way to handle the situation. Social media and Spur instantly think it is about race.
If I still lived in SA I would actually purposely avoid Spur because of their comment, not that I would have been going there too often anyway. I have no respect for people or institutions jumping on bandwagons like this. Especially the Race bandwagon.

Just like the other one who was not taking sides, why do you care whether her "brats" are a truck load or a bakkie load? What has that got to do with anything? and they are the only "brats" in this situation that you are worried about?

No, he infringed on the children's dignity and worth. Spur did not elobarate on race,

Incident at Texamo Spur, The Glen

Dear Spur customers,

We have been alerted to an unfortunate incident between two individuals that occurred at Texamo Spur, The Glen on Sunday 19 March 2017.

Upon viewing the video content that’s been circulated on Social Media we are shocked at the adults for behaving in the manner they did, especially with so many children around. As a family restaurant, Spur does not condone this type of behaviour.

We have investigated the incident with Texamo Spur staff and management, who expressed that they did in fact try to intervene, but were pushed away numerous times by the angry male customer. As soon as the incident escalated, Texamo Spur staff notified The Glen Shopping Mall security.

The man in the video is not welcome at any Spur restaurant nationally. We do not condone any forms of violence against women or children, irrespective of the circumstances.

We are very disappointed that children were exposed to this type of behaviour and would like to assure the public and all our loyal customers that we will not be taking this incident lightly.

Kind regards,

Spur Steak Ranches

People elaborate much on the attention of education, but don’t give a **** about the children. Just for that video, the woman can sue the living schit out of the guy.

Oh please. The mother doesn't give a F about the children. Swears even more than the man did and when the man tries to walk away, two or three times, what does she do? Swears at him even more, calling names, trying to bait him to come back. Way to go protecting your kids.

Again - no refuting the the guy is a tremendous twat and probably deserved the backlash he is getting (even if he was provoked) but this woman is just as bad, if not worse.

Triggered.

Triggered? No, that's me agreeing with him. It's funny though that you mention triggering by words when we have an ever-growing, open ended list of words in this country forbidden by one group to use against another group but not the other way round. Makes it clear as to who is really primed to be triggered.

Just like the other one who was not taking sides, why do you care whether her "brats" are a truck load or a bakkie load? What has that got to do with anything? and they are the only "brats" in this situation that you are worried about?

It gives the impression that she doesn't have them under control. Like I said before, those kids look as though they're used to this sort of adult conflict in their lives going by their reaction. Could even lead one to believe that there is a lack of discipline in this woman's home, possibly leading to one of her kids acting out at a family restaurant. Nothing concrete! Just a thought.

You seem to be under the impression that I'd immediately take the white person's side no matter what. On Saturday I was at a concert and although it was an awesome show, I witnessed something that got me down. A white girl was jumping around like a hooligan and slammed her elbow into a black girl's face behind her. Whether or not it was intentional I don't know but the white girl was undoubtedly in the wrong (probably drunk) and was rightfully marched out of there. I felt terrible for the black girl who was visibly upset. I wanted to ask if she was okay but she was with a guy and the music was so loud I figured she'd not appreciate having a stranger tapping her and shouting in her ear. It all comes down to context.

As Knyro said, it could have been resolved amicably but wasn't. From that point of view, they're both in the wrong.

My point was that words do have an effect on people, as much as we would like to pretend otherwise. Guy was being sworn at and taunted, nobody likes that kind of treatment. It does not however, excuse his behaviour.
