Spur Incident

Well we have no evidence that this man approached her civilly and that's the problem I have with your comments. Despite his pathetic and violent behaviour you give him the benefit of the doubt? Why? I say bias and you can't even deny it because there's jack shhh evidence that he approached her civilly, yet this is the narrative you stick to? Why is this narrative based on no evidence conveniently painting her as the unreasonable banshee who just went off at him after he was oh so reasonable.

Convenient that this self constructed narrative gives him the benefit of the doubt in the face of evidence showing the contrary.

But ye, no bias here

You have made it quite clear that no-one will tell you anything regarding your kids irrespective of what they did wrong. That tells me what I need to know about your morals and values. It is pointless engaging with you, we simply have diametrically opposed value systems. Your values will give us ANCYL/EFF/Zuma type behaviour.

Says the people trying to make everything about race. The poor oppressed black woman. She really showed that big white bully nicely asking her to control her kid! Big award for her and women's rights! Woot woot!

You are making this about race and sex, or are you too unaware to even realize this?

This isn't about black rights or women's rights, it's a human rights issue. No human being should be subject to a bully assaulting her child (god child in this case), his/her and a table full of kids in her care.

Now I wonder, it seems like you are the one who has formulated a different table of human rights, divided by race and gender. Seeing as you are so strongly advocating against the above mentioned rights of this woman. Black women should shut the hell up and just be good, submissive blacks when white men tell them to discipline their kids. Is that what you are suggesting? That's certainly what it looks like from you and the defenders of this menace's comments on here.

As a woman I can only see a man with very clear anger issues confronting a seated woman who can't get up and defend herself because she is trapped by the kids . He is VERY aggressive from the start in the way he approaches and leans over and uses his finger to make his point. He sounds reasonable at first but its the calm reason of the angry man who is faking it, evidenced by how fast the wheels fall off and his real anger and levels of aggression come out. If I am right about him then there is nothing she could have said or done that would have averted the anger. Any response would have escalated it. ANY! Because that is how it is with angry, abusive men. The fact she is Black may have had some impact on his thinking, but it is the fact that she is a woman that "empowered" him to go over and even begin the confrontation.

The question to ask is not 'would he have behaved the same if she was White' (the answer is yes btw) but would he have behaved the same if it was a man with kids? And if the answer to that is 'no' then the issue is her femaleness not her blackness.

So you see nothing wrong with her behaviour? You don't think the outcome could have been different if she responded reasonably originally? Example:

"Your kid hit my kid"
"I am sorry I will look at it and talk to him/her"

As opposed to:

"Your kid hit my kid"
"**** you racist"

Wrong! And this is where you can't see further than the little world you've created in your mind. If both parties were white then the car would be the exact same. For you though, I suspect your opinion would greatly shift in favour of the assaulted child and woman in this case, had they been white. This is just my opinion though, based on the utter stupidity of your baseless defenses of this menace of a man.

No, it would not.

This thread has received far more attention than the woman that was raped in a taxi (non-white on non-white) or the woman that was threatened by an ax-wielding lunatic at a complex (white on white). And the reaction to the three incidents is mirrored in the media and social media. Outrage over two idiots at Spur; some play for the poor rape victim (the one we should be the most outraged about) and no sh*ts given about the ax incident.

The agenda is plainly obvious. The moment it is black and white there is a huge firestorm, no doubt fueled by the media, both mainstream and social. Saying otherwise is willful ignorance.

The guy at Spur was a tosser, the woman's behaviour can be deemed somewhat acceptable in light of her feeling threatened, but even she turned it in to a race thing and then everyone went with it, exploding nothing in to a race war across social media.

And you make no sense and are incapable of discerning facts from fiction. You stick to this idiotic statement assuming that the little black girl was at fault. Yet no evidence of this, why are you so convinced?

My comments have jack to do with how I would discipline my kids. I have no kids for the record. You really mean to tell me that you can't discern between me saying that nobody has the right to violently grab another person's child and me saying that I'd let my kids go around and beat the crap out of other kids with no consequences?

It's clear you are out of your depth. Go increase your comprehension of the English language, read a bit more and try to engage in some brain development exercises and perhaps you'll be able to have a conversation approaching the levels of average human intelligence with me, okay?

Wrong again, this thread would be long dead if people were not defending the indefensible. It gives us great insight into the mind of the thick headed, bias South African and makes me realize the lengths that people will go to defend someone as plainly guilty as this Nico character.

The black on black and white on white tragedies you made reference to are faced with no debate because you don't have people saying dumb crap like "well the girl who got raped really shouldn't have taken a taxi, we live in dangerous times you know" or.. "hey the taxi drivers friend said that this girl had a rape fantasy, so she obviously wanted this".

Wow the level of thickness on this forum is just LoL worthy!

As I said, this thread mirrors what happened in the media and social media. Choose your platform, this incident received far more playtime than the other two I mentioned. Be that myBB, 702, Facebook, Twitter or printed media, people lost their minds over this and it is quite obvious as to why.

I didn't defend her behaviour, which is clearly wrong. She could have averted her eyes, bowed her head, been completely and utterly submissive, apologised profusely, and hit her kid in front of him, which MIGHT have satisfied him.

Would that satisfy you? Because you fail to see that nothing would have satisfied him. If she apologised it wouldn't have been sincere enough or fast enough, if she said she would talk to her kid, he would have wanted to know when, or disbelieved her entirely.

My point is that there is NOTHING that she could have said to avert the escalation in violence, except perhaps total submission, and even that doesn't always work with abusive men. The problem is not her and her reaction, if it was right or wrong. The entire problem starts and stops with him, with his issues, with his behaviour. Abusive men are never appeased, there is no right way to answer them, always only ever wrong ways. This is why this isn't about how she responded, but about him, and his aggression and why that isn't acceptable.

So her provoking him and screaming at him AFTER he walked away has no bearing on the situation at all then?

Got kids? Stop looking at him as a man and start looking at him as a dad.Not the greatest dad, but a dad who's upset that his child was hurt deliberately by another child. You don't have to defend him to understand him.

And stop looking at her as a woman and as a mother and godmother! Funny how you have so much compassion for this man and 0 tolerance and compassion for her.

I wonder why... it's becoming blatantly obvious as this thread continues.

She lost her shhh when he touched her kid.

And still the idiotic bias continues, she's to blame right?

of COURSE she is. she is a woman. she is always to blame. who else could POSSIBLY be to blame. Not the big brave man confronting the woman! /sarcasm/

FYI according to the spur there is ZERO evidence on the tape of what he alleges happened.

You don't just flick a "calm down switch" after a big grown a$$ man handles your kid in a threatening way.

So her provoking him and screaming at him AFTER he walked away has no bearing on the situation at all then?

Or maybe your question should have read:

So him provoking her by grabbing her kid in a threatening manner had no bearing on the situation although she was seated and did not seem threatening to him?

She's already made it clear that she thought it was a racist attack on her, so instead of doing the right thing and saying she'll have a talk with her kid, she told him to "fek off". What kind of mother does that?

I'm not for a single second saying that didn't... What I am saying is neither party is blameless in the way the whole incident played out... They both behaved like children

Another desperate post, rooted in bias and with absolutely no facts or coherent point of view to express. Nothing intelligent to say with regards to your silly defense of this man?

Ye, thought so ;-)

I'm not defending the dude. And it's maddening how many people have to tell you the same yet it still passes straight through your skull because of some hero syndrome you have going on at the moment. You simply struggle to have any form of reason because of a serious emotional involvement in a incident which has nothing to do with you. Then keep this dead piece of shyte thread alive by arguing how everyone is against your point of view.
