Spur Incident

You know what's really sad about this thread? It's that it's reached over 1000 posts and people still don't get it. It's not about a black woman and a white man, it's not even about a defenceless woman and a psycho man, it's about two parents who let their emotions get the better of them. Neither one of them would win parent of the year. What's even sadder about this thread is how racism is the first card that's played in the incident as well as on the forum. Viva South Africa Viva...

What if someone walks up to your wife/girlfriend/sister, grabs her ass and calls her a whore? Will you remain calm and just move on? Or will you react? This is my point, he took the situation and escalated it to the swearing and screaming match it ended up being.

be careful of who's arse you going to be touching because if it's mine you going to have me swinging around faster than you touched my arse and you won't be seeing your wife/girlfriend for 2 weeks because i'm going to close both your eyes. i don't need my husband to fight my fight for me. and that's a true story.

Lol ah cloudster why are you taking this situation as a personal attack?
You keep dishing out the word bias but you fail to prove that we are biased.

This is a discussion, we all have different perspectives of this incident but you're unable to realize this topic is not about a man grabbing a kid, this discussion is about the whole event so aside from keep going on about the individual grabbing the kid, look at other aspects.

You see the world in your box, you can be easily minuptatled

It's Saturday, chill..
Wow, it's as if you were the one being grabbed

He is just defending his view point, not taking it personal.

Did he pull the child violently? Probably not. dID HE hurt the child? No. thats more in line with lets go to your mother and calmly sort out your behaviour problems. Mom, obviously an ill mannered person from the video , takes offence and start swearing. If it was me, I'd crash her head through that table.

Here's that bias again, Nico Viljoen did not do anything wrong, he is an angel, but the lady who responded to his barbarism is wrong, ill mannered and a racist and her head should be smashed through the table. Nico on the other hand, was a model of restraint and should get a medal, I mean, he was so restraint he didn't even make a racial comment.

Here is where I start agreeing, this is less to do with race, and more to do with a person that has no self control and expects others to walk on egg shells around him. If they don't, he will PK them.

And, of course, the media.

Neither one of them would win parent of the year.
And that's the crux of it. It's really strange how people can just ignore this and make him out to be a ruthless aggressor based on 50 seconds of soundless video well into the "fight". Both could have handled it better but he didn't just randomly walk up to a woman and started swearing and grabbing. There seems to be an assumption that because he's a man and she's a woman he's this abuser when truth is she isn't squeaky clean either. The standard stereotypical response when statistically a lot of women are abusers as well.

I wasn't the one who felt the need to say that hooligan has black friends.

Both acted inappropriately but one crossed the line, laid hands on a child who isn't his and assaulted a woman and the entire table full of kids when he lifted the table up like that.

Both crossed the line. The video released by Spur does not show that he first approached her in a reasonable manner and she immediately lashed out.

I agree with the charges but lets look at the order of events here. The argument was happening before the child got grabbed. The argument shouldn't have happened. He took it too far and should be charged and banned, she let it go to far, she should be banned as well. Capiche?

Yeah the unequal punishment is unacceptable and concerning. This is where the question of Spur only releasing the last part of the argument's video becomes important.

Yup, the part that happen to show their version of events. This brings up serious questions about the playground footage as well. That a news site saw the footage is irrelevant, they are not experts.

Posters on this forum make me realize why this country struggles to make progress.

Though the level of intellect and bias is both concerning and disappointing, it provides us with insight into the thought pattern of the stubborn, outdated and plain stupid minority of dinosaurs left in this country which bears some value.

I thought this level of stupidity couldn't still exist. I see now that it certainly does so thanks for that education.

*sigh* once again the posters on this forums lack of intellect and comprehension of English doesn't disappoint. If you understood why I made that example, it was a hyperbolic, hypothetical scenario I raised in order to hear how he'd react in a scenario such as the one I put forward. Your answer in fact backs my stance, that emotions will take over and things will get out of control. You guys have been defending the opposite LOL! Saying that the woman at Spur was also wrong by reacting, yet the guy took it there. Same as the ass grabber would have been guilty in the scenario I raised.

But what did I get from most? Responses saying that a response should be measured and not emotional even in the extreme scenario I put forward. Your lack of understanding what I was doing did at the very least give us one honest answer. Which I find hilarious.

Hahahahahaha!!!! So now it's a fact that this hooligan approached her calmly and in a civil manner and politely asked her to discipline her god child? Lol you are a laugh man.

Okay let's say your highly unlikely account is true. He has no right to tell her to do anything with regards to her god child. Yes I said it, no right whatsoever. If he wants his child to not run at the risk of interacting with kids that they may get into fights with, he should not let his child play in a public area. Simple as that. I'd wager to say that this man with his violent tendencies is more likely to have a violent child in this scenario, but that's just me speculating and I won't state that as fact, as you've just gone and stated that he was calm and civil as fact though you have no evidence to back up this claim.

It is everyone's right to raise their kids as they see fit and to discipline them as they see fit. This lie that this guy civilly approached her is just another sign of your bias and lack of willingness to view the incident objectively.

So now people can walk up to others and DEMAND they "discipline" THEIR kids as they see fit or he'll violently grab their kid's arm and then go on to physically threaten the parent and child? Hahahahahaha!!! Wow this thread has been such an eye opener to the inner workings and thoughts of the blatantly bias.

Lol. Durban is burning, people are getting slaughtered daily, wars, famines and violence abound in the planet and we still talking about two middle class adults that had a verbal disagreement over kids in a franchise?

What happened in that spur happens everywhere everyday. This is just one of those great examples where social media grabbed an insignificant event, ripped it to pieces while intensifing hate between social/racial groups on a mega scale. A toppic which might need some serious discussion would be wether social media does more good than bad or visa versa.
