Spur Steaks Suck!

Hussar, whenever someone mentioned I can't help but to think of a SBR military style coat made in the UK.

That's one I went to was good.

Yeah, good is subjective, maybe anything is better than your wifes cooking...............................even Spur still have the odd cheer leader here.

Anyhow today is probably Adega day, they have some prawn special thingy on.

Fair enough you could have a bad experience it happens.

Yes it is opinion and a complaint of which you are entitled to. My grevience here in lies with the method of approach in dealing with said complaint .

This platform has no representing persons of the brand that would allow for rectification of the matter . Instead it only allows for brand bashing and in my opinion defaming.

Quality and customer satisfaction is almost dependent on the consumer bringing to light the unsatisfactory experience.

A store that has gone over the threshold of unacceptable grading and complaints stands to be removed from the brand completely and the ethos of the customer is always right is taken very seriously .

Consider how many hundreds of thousands of consumers leave the spur store happy.

All because a few good people made sure to help the brand rectify it's mistakes and build one that's better for us all .

And on planet Earth.......? There are stores that have given people food poisoning for years already and severed rotten food at many occasions over the years....why have they not been closed down?

"Hundreds of thousands of people leave the spur store happy"....please provide authenticated polls and statistics. The only reasons Spur is barely holding on is because South Africans do not complain at management or even staff at the restaurant.

They eat, pay and moan in the car and at the office and on forums.
I had also been dragged into the Spur culture by other parents with young kids, but due to better options, have refused to go any more.
The Spur is a dinosaur concept establishment serving borderline edible food.

There are no same standards across the franchises. At every Spur it is of different "styles" of preparation etc.
The staff are not trained, do not know how to communicate with customers and the food prep is below par.

Please go Google things like "schnitzel" and "onion ring" and "fresh buns" and then compare them to what is served at the Spur.

I've met people that are even more "brand blinded" than you, but your naivety re. your Spur may be endearing but is quite sad really.

1. The common law elements (of the delict) of defamation are (a) the wrongful and (b) intentional (c)publication of (d)a defamatory statement (e) concerning another person.

I'll let you go there and you'll see that it falls under fair comment and that you'd have a hard time proving defamation. https://www.schoemanlaw.co.za/wp-co...to-recourse-for-defamation-of-character-1.pdf

I don't see anything in this topic qualifying as such. Spur steaks suck is an opinion, and cannot be qualified as accurate or false as it is subjective.

2. The branch manager has over the years several times (around 10 I'd say) replaced steaks (they cook it very often too much, not enough, once or twice they smelled completely off) but has never shown any ability to have consistent food or any interest in making a commercial gesture.

I'm not your quality control or you cook's trainer, I actually pay to get bad service and overpriced passable food, why should I help Spur for free in addition? Send mystery diners on your own. I do it with small independent restaurants, but boosting Mr van Tonder's bonus doesn't thrill me.

I go there because I'm forced to and it will remain this way.

PS: I'm not the first and last one to complain about this restaurant (comments on Tripadvisor confirm it).

Beautiful, hear, hear! QFT :D

To reiterate Spur steaks suck.

Actually went to Spur for breakfast this weekend just because it was convenient.

Ordered the breakfast that had some steak with it... it was the smallest piece of steak Ive ever seen dished out by a restaurant.
