Hi guys,

Okay, let's share some knowledge here.

What tools are good for removing spyware/malware etc.

Specificially looking for tools (maybe I am missing a few) that removes the above mentioned.

I use the normal stuff, but I'm always keen to find out about new programs.

My advice is simply load your system fresh and use firefox and you do not need a program.

Here are a few you can try - SpyBot S&D; Spyware Blaster; Sunbelt CounterSpy and Comodo Internet Security...

Hijack This is also a good program to use.

Currently there are 2 versions, 2.02 and 2.03 BETA, I generally jump between both.

Avira or MSE for a free realtime anti-virus.

spybot s&d 1.6.2
malware bytes
ccleaner
drweb

in that order

I've setup a PC at work that will be our dedicated 'cleaning' PC if you will.

It has XP Pro (fully updated) with the following programs;

CCleaner
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Microsoft Security Essentials
Spybot - Search & Destroy
Super Anti Spyware Free Edition

All fully updated and scans on each program has been run on the PC in question.

When I clean PCs I use the following software in this order (after scanning with the AV first of course):

Spybot S&D
Malwarebytes
Ad-Aware by Lavasoft (free version works well)
ComboFix (as a last resort if the above fail)

If all the above don't clean the PC then its formatting time.

Best program in the business hands down.

It is also worth noting that the FREE version does not have real-time protection which IMO is vital if you want to stop processes from infecting further.
