For those who are unaware we have South African Squad servers up since yesterday..

Or just check your server browser ingame and scroll for the lowest latency as it can't be sorted by ping yet.

Lets try get the South African servers filled and populated :) Get your friends to buy the game and come enjoy it!


What is Squad?

Your server Shirou?

You ran some other game servers before. I'm actually contemplating buying the game now tbh. How many people are playing atm?
 
Hi Pitbull,

I normally try and run servers that's not available in South Africa :) Noticed there was no Squad servers for South Africa so got in contact with the Community Manager from Squad.. i have the server software at this stage but no servers up yet, as per the Community Manager from Squad only myself and GamersInc have the files right now.

So the current two servers available is from them, my servers should come up soon.

Bought the game yesterday myself.. and 4 hours just went pass so quickly.. i was like a zombie at work today, had some real fun with some south african boys and the teamwork is amazing if you find a good squad leader and know what he is doing and keep communications life.

Ragnar_za, How many players did you see online? I've been contemplating getting the game but i don't want to join an empty community.

This game a ****ing amazing.

You will see the SA server pick up around 19:00 every night. I haven't played much this week but will surely be on tonight and probably on Sunday (Wedding tomorrow). Since the ping is not a great factor in this type of game. Even playing international servers is pretty awesome.

There ar about 15 players I know of playing on the SA server from about 19:00 pm in the evenings. Once the server picks up to about 15 players then international people join too and it's full pretty quickly. But as said above you can play with a sub 300ms ping and the game is still pretty amazing. It's not a fast paced game where you need to headshot every 2 seconds. The team based gameplay makes it very easy to play sub 300. Just forget about playing sniper :D

Its worth it and has alot of potential.

Tatics and communication is key ,you have to work together to achieve objectives.
 
I've been playing on EU servers almost every night while checking SA servers, but they are never populated. Not even in the peak time of 19:00 mentioned in this post.

I suspect it's a catch-22 situation. Nobody wants to play on the server because it's empty. The server is empty because nobody wants to play on it.

Hopefully more people will pick this up when it's closer to release. If some of the old BF2 players are still around I can see the game doing well in terms of player numbers in SA. Until then, EU servers it is.

uptake is a bit slow but the updates are happening and with more content the number of people playing should increase.

Seems many are still joining EU servers as the SA ones are empty, vicious circle.. We try arrange events and get guys on at those times. Its gaining traction though and our group is growing daily, so interest is there. We need vehicles, more detailed fighting environments and scopes (which have just arrived). Found after a few hours my eyes would bleed. Servers need some customisation though, fewer round tickets and nice mix of map/modes.
 
I don't do facebook. But I'll keep an eye on the server. Steam group might work better, but so many have failed in the past.
