I suspect it's a catch-22 situation. Nobody wants to play on the server because it's empty. The server is empty because nobody wants to play on it.

Hopefully more people will pick this up when it's closer to release. If some of the old BF2 players are still around I can see the game doing well in terms of player numbers in SA. Until then, EU servers it is.

For the first week or two it was pretty busy.. server always had 40+ players online during peak times, lately the servers are just empty not sure why though as the game is great for sure, and most SA players playing on EU servers.

This is the problem.

Even with the event created for yesterday at 17:00. We were 2 people online till about 17:20 then we left.
 
If this is ever gonna work we either need a butt load of players or organise a date and time far in advance. Setting a game for Saturday 7pm on the same Saturday morning isn't going to work.
 
Whats the latency like playing on EU servers? I used to play BF3 on UK & German servers with less lag than on local ones.. :/

Never had issues playing on EU servers as the SA ones are normally dead. Slightly higher ping but the game play required doesn't suffer because of ping. It's not a fast passed FPS. You will hit your shots with ease at 200ms np.
 
I used to play Red Orchestra 2 on EU servers with pings of +-200ms which works surprisingly perfect. Watching some Youtube vids on the latest update to Squad has turned me to buy the game from Steam for R400...Will be playing this tonight at home. Ping of 200 should be a for away :)
 
I've been playing for a couple days now, the gameplay is amazing but man the graphics look soooo dated. I tried all the AA settings but didnt really make much difference.

Is anyone using sweetFX/Re-shade? (http://www.bigdgaming.net/threads/sweetfx-reshade-tutorial-for-a-purdy-squad.10058/)

I tried it but when i finally got everything to work (the tutorial is not 100%) I got kicked from the servers so uninstalled it. Its not a mod, it just changes some presets to make things look more sharp.

EDIT 2: BTW I got reshade working and it makes such a difference. You can turn it off and on and the difference is like night and day. Everything is a lot brighter and clearer. I strongly suggest doing it

Are you guys still playing Squad? I only started recently with v13 update and I'm well impressed, addicted actually.

Seems to be getting quite popular lately. SA server was only active last Saturday and I had a few good games, but EU servers are constantly over full - queue times generally aren't too long though.

I've only tried to be SL (Squad Lead) once on an EU server which was stressful but the team was forgiving, but thinking I might train up for it a bit more and go that route.

Grab this game if you're a milsim fan, I highly recommend it.

Normally on the Project awesome servers.
Wait time is not that long.
 
I played once or twice in the past. I might put some time into it his weekend to actually get in it.
Been playing Insurgency Sandstorm and Rising storm 2 so time is limited.
 
Saw it was on sale for like 200rand, bought it today will try it out over the weekend

It will be AA priced. I guess a R150-R200 increase.
 
I tried it when there was a free weekend. Couldn't join any server, could only experience it through the tutorials lol.

I do like the gunplay.

Can you join a European server when there aren't any local servers? No region locks?

I'll keep my eyes open for a special.

Edit: I see there is a 25% special now, is it worth it for SA players??

Stop playing and uninstalled, because the updates took forever.
Don't know how, but 30 mb updates would take an hour to install and lock up my hdd.
Couldn't take it anymore and removed it.

Other than that it's a great game, but team play is essential. If you wanne solo, this game is not for you.

Cool awesome to know we can play EU servers. Thanks im well aware this is not a solo game :)
