Squad

Cool awesome to know we can play EU servers. Thanks im well aware this is not a solo game :)

I see you only played the tutorials, so I feel I need to stress the team play element.

It's not a team game in the vein of COD or Battlefield, where you play with a team, but can still do your own thing.
In Squad you absolutely cannot do your own thing.
You have to listen to your squad leader and fulfill your role. Using a mic is essential.
It is a Milsim in every sense and if you are not prepared to take and follow orders, which can sometimes mean sitting on a objective 20 mins plus with no action, then you will not have fun.

The game has a niche audience for a reason, but if you enjoy that type of gamplay, you will have a blast.

Feeling like starting up again myself.

Thanks, like I said I'm well aware of it not being a solo game. I have played more 'realistic' and team based games which I really enjoyed. Rising Storm 2 Vietnam and Insurgency Sandstorm. Following orders and good communication is key in winning in those games. But I do understand that this is more like Arma, in the sense that everything is a lot more slower paced and more about planning an attack than just rushing in guns blazing and also about holding an objective for as long as the commander/leader needs.

Anybody playing Squad?

Any local servers?
I used to. Good game, better than ARMA in my view and it's latest update is well received.

This is game which insists obedience.

No, I haven't played games, to entertain, in a while now. Just doing adventure games.

The lack of ability to party join and get my friends in a squad or even reliably on the same team kinda kills this game for us. Every time there's a major update, we look out for a group join feature and are disappointed.

I agree 100% with you, why they have not enabled your friends to just even join your match directly from Steam I do not know. It is always a mission getting everyone onto the server, nevermind everyone on the same side

Let me know if you want to try it out.
Haven't played in a good 3 years, but have been meaning to try it again after V.1.0 dropped

No local servers though.

I tried it yesterday and then got a refund. It looks like a fun game, but every server I found was about 180 ping (not a game-breaker necessarily) but also only French people. So team comms in French are an additional challenge I never bargained for.

Probably a better experience if you live in the states or something, but for a soutie it's not great.

I seem to recall many servers are named with a language tag, and there were quite a few [ENG] ones. I've spaced out on all their names but at least 3 or 4 popular ones hovering around 160 to 180ms for me. Server browser must have been failing you?

They are generally full though, so set filter to show full servers and wait in queue.

Unless it's changed over the last few months.

But no stress if refunded, the latency is a bit of a bummer.

EDIT:
Ah I just vaguely remembered some server names...
Project Awesome (Think they had 2 english servers and are newbie friendly)
Bound4Blood or something like that
Rusty in Places

Wonder if those are still around.
