on mweb 384 uncapped. pulled opera browser (12MB) and came down at 18KB/sec ... wheres my other 22KB/sec ?? some of my international sites arent even loading, blank page and done .... something is seriously fecked ....

Axxesslite still rubish: (on 4mb line)
Was erroneously downgraded to Axxess Uncapped 4096 (from Express+) on 1 May. Getting speeds of 30-50kB's on a 4meg line - the whole day so far. Spent 90 minutes in total on the phone today - NO ANSWER! This is, by far, the most pathetic service I've ever experienced.

welcome to the world of contended (shared) bandwidth...
you are buying an uncapped connection sure - but it is contended - be it 1:20 or 1:50
Due to the expensive nature of uncapped in SA - I bet a good percentage of the users are heavy users, not good for sharing a pipe. Your low bandwidth user typically would not sign up for uncapped because of the price
In say the US where everyone is on uncapped it all works out because you are sharing mostly with low bandwidth users (some figure floating around of 5-10% of users using 80% of bandwidth)
Obviously the slow speeds now is bad for the image of the uncapped product, and I am sure the big ISP's allocated more bandwidth than the break even contention needed in the beginning - but it seems its not enough

I don't think it's that. Speeds where fine even during seacom maintenence (when it was on) - but no everything is frackked.

Agree, my AH 384 account has been at full speed since yesterday 12:00AM.

My Axxess Lite is completely useless. I am currently downloading a pdf document at a bone-breaking speed of 10kb/s.
What line do you have?
Just remember they to have restrictions so you'll be doing that speed if you surpass their bandwidth 'cap' (for the lack of a better word) when you hit the 60GB mark. Think it's 60GB for 4mb users...

Yeah it does, but give me a 4mb line and i will show you how quickly i reach 60GB. or even 200GB for that matter.
youre lucky, cant maintain a stable speed, jumping between 0 and 25kbps, was full speed this time last month

I like to think I have a 4mb, but these days I am not so sure anymore. Local IS account is flying at 400 - 430 on the IS news server, but the lite does 120 on the same file.
