So it's now hovering around 11 to 12k and it's stage 2, yet last week it was 12 to 14k and no load shedding??
Is this because they've got more in maintenance?
Also why no further updates from City Power on Kelvin.
No idea about the Kelvin updates. Schedules are still being posted on their Twitter feed.

What I do know is that I'm supposed to be off from 20:00 - 00:30 but there's still power...

They took a couple of GW offline for planned maintenance.

When will we find out if LS will come to a (temporary) end on Thursday 6th at 06h00?

Have a presentation to do at a meeting during a Stage 2 OFF period that morning and need to get a large UPS and battery if need be

You should just plan for it regardless.

It really seems to me like they're warming everyone up to the idea of long term shedding. A concession here and there and the next thing you know...

Which is actually intelligent.

Eskom had a lightbulb moment?

I would say it's more the new head of Eskom having such. Andre du Ruyter. Lets be frank - the politicians have farked up Eskom and it's power supply. This dude comes along and says 18 months minimum. This is why you and I are looking at a battery and inverter solution right now, not so?

Although, it seems there are still politics going on what with Mantashe's announcement yesterday.

They are now saying no respite like they promised. That's mean mine is going at at 6h30 when we've already left the house. Nice one Eskom. We'll be getting ready with flash lights and eating cold food. Thanks for giving me a great start to my day.

Who is saying? Source? This will spike my plans.

I do wonder how much he will be able to do, given the political involvement in the SOE and also pressure from the trade unions - I do suspect his hands are tied but he will probably give it his best shot. There are 50 million pairs of eyes on you, Mr Ruyter...

And yes, we the people can do naught all but try and plan around the years of incompetence, with some pouring thousands of rands of their hard-earned money at the issue just to be able to lead semi-normal lives.

This is so ****ing inconvenient. Can't invoice or do DNotes so can't deliver orders till 10H30.

How do businesses not have some form of backup yet. It's been 12 years...

Our 2-hour session turned into longer than 7 hours. Don't know what happened yet but suspect that another substation must have had a problem. No power from 17:00 till after midnight.
