Shyte, that's horrible... This just doesn't happen in the Western Cape.

Let's not forget that the City of Tshwane is DA run as far as I remember. Does not really matter still horrible. Worst municipality ever!

It's so strange as the City of Cape Town is DA run too, and is pretty much a world class city. Everything works. 100% clean audits, budget surplus and a functioning metropolitan fire, police and ambulance service.

heh heh. Not loading it enough when you do run it. Give it an occasional kick in the pants by running the Geyer or a kettle or something to push the load up.

I had to beg the DA ward Councillor to please get someone to fix a burst water pipe that I have reported 4 times already. It was leaking so long that the pavement running to the storm water drain had green grass all around the leak. The ward Councillor blocked me on whatsapp..... Useless the whole lot of them.

I think we make too much out of the political masters. It has lots to do about the people employed by the councils as well. Here --- well just about none of them know what the h they are doing.
 
My 9 hrs. out of 24 doesn't sound so bad then, at least Jo'burg isn't the only one :-(
But here's why ours was the worst today - at 5:00 it went off again even though not scheduled - took me 4 hrs. to realise that it was our own trip switch, caused by a rain leak in the cable pipe to an outside light :oops:

sheesh some of you okes have it really bad, we didn't go off for our slot this morning and we won't tonight because it is too late. we haven't had load shedding like the entire week, and normally we get shafted with power outages, this year has been bliss

If the sound from the generator is too loud just turn up the volume on your tv, that's what I do.

That is nice. City of Tshwane switches us off. If the Schedule shows 01:00 to 03:30 in the morning if there is loadshedding it goes off.

Until recently that's been the case here as well. I can't speak for all the groups but we haven't had late night shed in a few days.
 
We are Back! That makes for almost 3 hours this afternoon. Wonder what happens when we move to stage 4?? Stage 2 is already bad enough.

Is there an affordable way for me to still run my router & fibre box during load shedding?

Yes look at the UPS router thingies on Takealot. My dad actually built his own backup for the router himself but if you are not technically inclined then just buy one.

Yeah - it's a crap shoot at the moment. I'm going to ask my/our? ward councillor what's going on.

I have a frogfoot CPE & a cheapie router.

Can you pls link the stuff I need from Takealot. I am not that tech savvy. Thank you.
