Stage 2 load shedding strikes

Can I ask something, kinda guessing its a stupid question.

Should the supply vary like in the table or remain constant? I would have guessed that the demand would vary from day to day but not the supply.

There is planned maintenance, when certain gennies are taken down for routine work, and these form the basis for Eskom's predictions of supply. Then there is unplanned maintenance, when some generation equipment suddenly fails and load shedding has to be implemented at short notice

A few times in the past, there is a predicted shortfall which has not resulted in load shedding - they normally call on their contracted business customers to reduce at short notice

Since today's shortfall is as predicted, we don't know yet if there was an unplanned incident.

We just recovered from a 15 hour blackout yesterday due to cable theft.

Have a heart.
 
So shortly after they asked for the 25% increase they suddenly have to loadshed again...

Coincidence? :)
 
Dear Eskom

I have had enough of load shedding.Please do me a huge favour and cut off everyone who hasn't paid for their services cos it's getting ridiculous at this alarming rate criminals will study load shedding timetables and know exactly what time to house break ins.....

I do my bit to save come month end always using the same consumption of electricity

We all do our bit to save every month, but its those that does not pay or dont care that is not reducing the amount of electric they use.
 
Load shedding come and gone (16:00 - 18:00). I just wish they would stick to some schedule. Stage 2 was not planned for this afternoon but this morning, according to the schedule. We the unlucky folks who they decided to spring it on. :(

After the power was restored ? Busy with loadshedding ,so at 8 I will see how quickly it syncs. But yes, got modem on a ups and adsl dies about 15 min into loadshedding. They must have kark batteries in the dslams
